Zeusjr, can you tell where on the web-site the balling is appearing?? I looked at the ball section and the What's next section and I see nothing. There is some dialogue in the forum section but that's all I see. I'm just looking for some offical specs on the new equipment.....

Oops, my bad. Unfortunately it still doesn't tell us any of the characteristics of the ball but I'm sure we will know soon enough.
Thanks again for the help.....

from the rumor mill
long and then a very hard left turn. Mine will be here next week and I will be posting up a review of it as soon as I get it punched. I love the original Buzzbomb and cannot wait to put three holes in this one and see how it compares to some of my older lane #1 balls. I am looking for length and a big back end and from what I am hearing this will give me that look completely. My lane #1 guy didnt even offer up drilling, he basically said go for it, put your favorite drill on it. and lets see what it does
Cant say enough how long I have been waiting for a strong strong pearl from Lane #1 and this ball sounds like it will fill the hole perfectly

Another miracle ball from Lane#1. Cant hardly wait..
Don't know about 'miracle ball', but the BuzzBOMB is a very good heavier oil piece, so the pearl version should be a good THS compliment. You're anxious anticipation is well placed.....

enjoy the koolaid inverted
Honestly I have waited for a strong pearl from lane #1 for some time. Dont get me wrong the latest stuff IE Evolution and supernova xp have their strengths but are a little more mid lanish then I want. I've been begging for a strong hard pearl something with lots of length that will hit the dry and move
From the descriptions I have gotten, this hopefully will be the ball

Keep looking... I'm sure there's a 300 in one of those balls you keep buying!!
funny you should say this inverted, there was 2 300's in my last pearl lane #1 ball, thus my excitement over this impending release

Just wanted to pop in a quick blurb about my initial take on the new ball.
I drilled the ball 4x4 with the pin up and outside the ring finger (almost identical to my XXXL that can be seen at:
http://www.dougsproshop.net/images/MyArsenal/XXXL.JPG
The BB/R required a small weighthole that I placed 6" from grip center on the line from grip center thru center of gravity. I pitched the weighthole 1" right and 1/2" reverse. I did this to maintain as much core integrity as possible.
Ending weights were:
Gross:14# 14-1/2oz
Side: 3/4 oz positive
Finger: 1/8 oz
Top: 1/8 oz
Box finish was maintained at 1000 grit with light polish
My initial testing bed was the remnants of the US Junior Gold Medium pattern that was left over from the Empire State Games bowling today. Each lane had 4 squads of 3 bowlers on it so it had 12 games on it. There were high rev players, slow rollers, younger women, older women, young guys, older men...all shapes and sizes. What I am getting at is that the lanes are pretty trashed at the moment.
Warm up was with my original Buzzbomb:
http://www.dougsproshop.net/images/MyArsenal/buzzbomb2.jpg
Feet started at 30 with the ball being played over 15, out to 10 with lots of forward roll. This ball would strike when I kept the speed in the 17-18 MPH range. If I softened up on the speed the ball would hook up at 30 feet and go left. Moving in further exaggerated the problem. Playing the ball oout further at the breakpoiunt resulted in the ball rolling out before it hit the pocket.
I pulled out the BB/R and played the same line. My initial reaction was "holy crap does this thing rev up hard." The ball started to rev up around 35 feet but easily floated out to the "no man's land" outside of 10. At around 45 feet the ball appeared as if it had hit a wall...it stopped going right and turned over HARD and headed for teh pocket.
After several more shots I came to the conclusion that this is one STRONG pearl ball. Granted the shot was broken down but despite the heads starting to go away the BB/R cleared them easily, made a strong roll in the midlane and had a very strong change of direction on the backend.
Thus far I like the ball...very strong...in fact this ball flares every bit as much as my Super Carbide Bomb. I will be adding some ZappIt Distance to the ball as soon as I get a fresher shot to play it on.
Trigger...I think this is the ball you were waiting for...if initial impressions mean anything this ball is going to be awesome on the intended lane condition.

what do you think doug, my intial hearings are stronger then the pearl cherry bomb. do you think so? from the sounds of it it very well could be stronger then that. If it can get the length of a pearl cherry bomb with more back end I am all over it. I do have a peal cherry c/2 that I love but its years of use are showing with the finger area having been fixed numerous times. I just picked up an emerald hoping to find an in between ball. The xp stays in the bag, but could use some polish currently
now this ball is coming, it does indeed sound exactly what I am looking for, and pretty darn close to what all the saw guys having been asking for, on very stong long pearl ball I may just have to run home at lunch and pick it up on tuesday so I can head straight to the press and punch it up
If this ball does half of what the rumor mill is telling me, it is a must have from the line up sounds like the lane #1 line up is getting to that spot we all want it to be look for a review soon, and maybe if I can bring myself to do it a video comparison betweeen this new ball, my xp and my pearl cherry on a pba shot (provided I can bring myself to post my crappy form on the net)

Yes trigger it's a very strong ball. I know my XP was drilled different (pin under) but this ball walks all over the XP on the backend AND it revs up MUCH harder in the midlane.
Stronger than the Pearl Cherry Bomb? In the midlane yes. Does it get the same length? I dunno...but then the BB/R is not as polished out of the box as the Cherry Bomb was.
I want to go to 2000 grit on the ball and a light coat of teh Sauce to see how the reaction changes. I'll try the Zapp It Distance first since it's easier to undo than surface change and polish.
It's been a long time since I drilled a ball this aggressive but Chuck at Lane 1 told me to try it since the ball was "awesome with that layout."
I can't wait to try the ball on a shot that's more akin to my talent level. The Junior Gold Medium pattern and I just don't get along. My release is just too erratic to play the line that's necessary for the pattern on our lanes.
This ball is a perfect compliment to the original BuzzBomb and the Teal THS....3 totally different reactions...just awesome.

Thanks Doug, I am unsure of how to drill mine yet as Chuck told me to put my favorite drill on it and see what happends. Cannot wait to punch it, I am sure I will be changing surface up to at least 1500 wetsand and then a coat of the sauce on it (those of you who have not tried this stuff, believe me I was very reluctant too but man does it really do some good things to the ball) But of course I will be fully trying it out in box prior to changing surface to get a feel

I am contemplating a 4.5 x 3.5 drill or maybe even 4.5 x 4 (pap over 5 up 0) with pin above the finger line (3.5 pin buffer or so) should result in something like 65 degree pin angle and 15-20 degree val angle, I'll see once the ball gets here what I have to work with and lay it out accordingly. but the above is my gut feeling if it is a 3-4 pin

Buzzbomb/R has the same coverstock as the Evolution ? Was wondering why the coverstock is not Pure Grip Pearl ??

In my bag :
Dimension
Gravity Shift
Buzzsaw Clear Diamond

Got one yesterday (finally!!!!). Getting it drilled up today, can't wait to throw it. I think this will be a strong pearl, 1000 grit- light polish. This ball may replace my Gravity Shift (which is an excellent ball, and pretty similar surface- 1500 grit and a little more polish than the BB/R).
