i am a relatively new bowler, still working on form and ball choice for conditions. anyway, i average 173ish. i got my new BCB back from the driller. we went with CG leverage for the drilling, and i took it out to a local oil fest with lots of carry down for some practice.
the first game was the "get to know you" game. i loved the consistent reaction. if i hit 12 board, let it drift to 7, it would wind up and blow through the pocket. like any good ball should do, the first roll i gave it was a strike.
well, the carrydown was horrible (10 PM on a house with alot of oil and alot of kids bowling on bumpers), so it didnt take long to get sloppy. i went with a 157 the first game, the ball turning hard and going thru the nose. i left Big Four twice in a row, and finalized it with a 6-7-10.
nice!!! so i wrote that one off and my friend and i started up our 3-set.
i cleaned the ball, picked a new line, and went 80 pins for the first 4, opened, and picked and spared my way to a 172. the reaction went away as the carry down got heavier. the oil was pushing thick, and the ball's pretty much polished cover wasn't liking it.
i grabbed a scotch brite pad, cleaned the ball, and gave it a real good scuffing. this time, the ball woke up! i picked another line, from 7 board to 5 board, and it just tore thru the pocket! i went with a 5 bagger, a brooklyn 2-4-7 which i picked up, a strike, a big 4, then spared out for a 215. next game, doubles and triples everywhere, no opens, 221.
i think this ball will really fit me well on tuesday night leagues. there's alot of oil there, and this ball looks like it will roll the way i want it to. i will get a good track going and tell ya'll more. so far i am digging the Lane #1 stuff!
