Dynamo x2.............
« on: August 10, 2009, 05:46:41 PM »
Ok guys, I have gotten the chance to put some games on my new Dynamos now and give my first impressions. The roll very very amazing! I drilled 3 so far.
Pin Below the fingers(Double Thumb Layout)
Pin above Middle
and Pin to the right of ring

I must say that all these balls have different reactions and its clear that a person can build a competitive arsenal with just these balls. I have all three balls with the OOB finish so I can score well on anything but heavy heavy oil of course. If I take one of those down to say 1K abralon than I could probably hit anything I run accross.

My favorite reaction is probably the Double Thumb Layout. Its pretty smooth and I can really open the lane up with it. The Pin to the right of ring is very smooth as well, but it tends to not carry as good on anything other than that perfect condition. My PAP is around 4" over and 1" up, so Im sure that it is flaring a little to much.

As far as the other one... The pin above the middle finger. Its the strongest move by far off the spot. I have to be careful when throwing this ball, especially on something kinda flat because of the backend movement. It can be a little to much on the back on many occasions... It has of course the best length of the three though making it one heck of a league condition ball. Its one of those nice wheel type balls to show off on the later type conditons.

Anyways, my impressions on these balls are just like I had figured. I loved the Dynamos, and now I love the New x2's. Theres nothing better than finding a ball with such a smooth transition off the spot... The carry along with the predictability in such a ball is just phenominal!!! As of right now I would give this ball a 10+, and I hope to continue to crush every pattern I come across with these things. Thanks for reading, John Davis

dont know yet, will be punching mine soon

but, I am looking for an entirely different look so I will be doing some odd drilling, at least for me

some of the feedback thus far are very promising for this ball. love or hate lane 1, the hurricane core and cover matchup seem to be the best lane 1 has produced in a great while.  if you like the old big b stuff, imho the dynamo series rivals anything produced during those days

BOY? probably not, since there is not enough love for the company to garner such attention, but the more people that throw this line (dynamo) the more people really like it

I think the Dynamo series is like the Cell was that roto came out with. One word...."Greatness" comes to mind. When I introduce people to lane 1 balls, I put the on the Dynamo's for starters because I feel that they are that great in everyones hands!

For all those Saw haters, you just dont know how good these Global coverstocks is matching up to these Newly Designed Cores... They have great Length for the first time in Lane 1's history. I am glad to see them match up with so many different styles now. Go Lane 1! John

the dynamo x2 is one sweet ball. i have never used any lane 1 ball, ive always been partial to storm. after rolling my x2 for almost a week now i am very happy with it. this ball is so versitile, and it gets super easy length. im in the 450-500 rpm range, and this ball just ignores even fried heads. john and i along with my girlfriend bowled about 7 games a piece and the dynamo x2 could still get down the lane. i think for me more than anything is the recovery this ball gets downlane. when i gets some friction to the right i can hook the whole lane. simply put the deeper i can get with this ball the better i like it. imo it will handle most anything but the extremes of oil and dry. also i think this ball will work for most any style. crankers are gonna love the length and the ability to open patterns up, tweeners this is your dream ball that will allow you to get inside with the crankers, and strokers are gonna love the length and control this ball will give you. if this ball was garbage i would tell ya cause i have been a storm guy for years, but after throwing this ball im partially converted lol!

Sweet deal Mike
I have not been on my computer for a while so I have not responded to your fb stuff.

have not bowled in like 2 weeks and have been plugged out.
would love to try the X2, because the original was a recovery monster, and took surface adjustments extremely well.

would love to see the same recovery w/ more length, plus a little element of control

and yes the DT drill on this dynamo just makes it SICK !!!!!!!!!

Quality piece thus far......easy thru the heads, strong read in the middle and then a well defined backend motion.

I liken this ball to the old Blueberry C2. More info to come.....

Guys, I continue to wack em with my new X-2's. The other night practicing I go 258,289,300...throwing the one with the pin above the Middle Finger! This was on a broken down house shot at 10pm, too... That I think is the best part of it.
As far as the layout with the Pin to the right of ring. I am just not quiet sure of. I think that one is flaring entirely to much and burning up all throughout the lane. My PAP is just to close to the Pin on these layouts to be of maximum use. I do however, feel like they have struck gold when they designed the Hurrican Core. So of you Sawheads can imagine how good a ball is going to be with this Hurrican Core along with something like the Massacre coverstock. Now that will be scary!
If you have alot of hand and look for that super-controlled type motion along with some length than you will fall in love with the New X2's. I have been enjoying mine so much I hadnt took the time to even think about changing the surface. I just hope more people try this new combination because I am thrown many many balls in the past, and this new Hurrican Core may be the best match-up I have ever seen in a bowling ball! John

I agree John....the motion of the new X-2 is just awesome. I have gotten my coverstock where I want it and I have to say the X-2 is going to be an awesome addition to Lane 1's arsenal.

I stand by my last statement....Blueberry C2 on the juice....

More info: drilled 5x4 pin over, small weighthole on VAL 2" below PAP. 2000 Abralon finish...smooth, even and strong.....I love it!!!

I punched a long pin x2 up last night, pin was right at 4.75"
ended up drilling pin above bridge (4.5" pin buffer) cg straight down, works out to roughly 6 x 5 for me  def a contrast to my original dynamo, both are at 4k abralon with polish (x2 OOB, dynamo surface adjusted)  the original dynamo is my go to ball on a ths in deep, fantastic move fantastic hit, my goal was a compliment to it with this one, and I think i have done that, house had a 35 ft flat pattern out last night, fresh oil, all my stuff was taking off hard on the backs, first two balls I pushed and once they hit the 36 ft mark moved left, so needless to say inside they went to the 7 pin instantly, the X2 by comparison, I moved way right, shot up ten and found the hole everytime, no big jerky movement, just clean up the boards, stong controlled move off the spot, carry was exceptional from this angle.  another great rolling peice in the line up, drilling accomplished my goal, looking forward to league where I can shoot the x2 up the outside and save the middle for the later games

agreed triggerman, the x2 is very versatile. it takes to hand positions very well, and takes surface adjustments well too. i like it so much its hard to put it away sometimes!

well trigger I did the same thing with a Playmaker x out I had here...1.5 top and a 6" pin.

I put the pin over my bridge and the cg ended up in my thumbhole :-)

The ball plays very cleanly, no early roll, no jerky anything...it's a great compliment to my 4x4 leverage ball.
