Title: SCB and Solid U surfaces:
Post by: Fatboy8 on March 14, 2007, 07:54:45 AM
I was wondering what a good surface would be for my SCB, for a THS? Right now it's at 600, with no polish and it's too strong for our shot. Also on my Solid U, pin under ring, cg kicked right, at 600 grit.

Would polish on the 600 calm it down?
Do I need to go to like maybe 1000 with the surface?

Any input would be great.

ok... I am not pro... nore do I have a shop... I just tried around a bit with 600 800 and 1000 pads...

I did as follows..

when 600 was too much I took it to 800... if that still was too much up to 1000

Polish will also help... the problem is I don't know how you want the ball to response and how the lanes are.
If you have clean and strong backends a little polish will also help to keep the ball on your shot...
If you have to fight carrydown... a dull ball should be better...

My general suggestion: Just try around with different grits and maybe even polishing... The SCB is a strong a ball... even polished
