setting up my nationals arsenal, input wanted
« on: February 15, 2007, 02:47:52 AM »
ok since all the other crap in here doesnt seem to be bowling related, i will start a new one.  setting up my nationals arsenal, and yes it will be entirely lane 1 so here goes, feel free to comment or suggest other stuff

xxxl for spares
hrg 1-2 pin drilled 1:30 stacked for the late doubles and singles session
semi pin tsu to bail me out if i need it (money ball)
Cherry C/2 pearl pin 1.5 under finger stacked (1"pin) ball eats up carry down, and can recover from just about anywhere, shot 250 plus deep inside at Corpus last year last game of singles
carbide plus polished, 3-4 pin, pin under ring cg leverage for that fresh team shot

what do you think?  holes anywhere? maybe something different?

oh by the way, 17.5 at deck, 450ish revs, quite a bit of axis tilt as i come out on the side pretty good

Trigg,

Looks good to me, can I borrow a MPH or so? J/K I would say that unless you want to bring something for those heavy chances, you're good to go! Any tournament I have ever gone to, did'nt have much more than medium, medium heavy I have not seen much around. This is my standards for oil, I'm pretty hard on lanes also being REV dominant. Is that carbide + a particle ball? I don't remember, if so you might want to take a particle pearl with you... Just in case.

His Cherry C/2 clears the heads and eats through carrydown. So that isn't an issue. Chris can also slow the ball down if he has to and with his revz, the Carbide + should be fine for the team if he even needs that! Just my $.02 which has no value.

right you are charles, the carbide + is particle solid, which should help in mids if i need it, polishing it will help clear the heads in team but the particle will smooth out the over under i experienced last year during team event (in the pocket the first 12 shots got rewarded with 7 splits)

I can and often times do as charles said soften my hand and speed, as the lanes dry out, s sofer hand allows me to stay on target, heavy oil has nver been an issue

keep the feedback coming guys, I am stoked about this year, hoping to do well
my lifetime 180 average sucks and i know i am much better then that, excitement of being there does me in

You can forget the fact that the oil pattern may be 40' there will be no oil in the mids.    You will have to play outside of 10 and don't pull the ball ever.

You have to clear the fronts and round the heads.    Your Cherry c/2 is the ball as long as it is polished to 4000.

yeah i guess i should clarify, my cherry c/2 is a freak, it is a different color, the short pin so far under my ring finger makes it recover from just about anywhere, and carry down is really not an issue for this ball.  I have thrown it beside my now gone super carbide (not the bomb) and seen similar recovery on the back on long oil, it is hard to describe if you have never seen it

not sure how national oil is ...

you might need something to go very long when the mid dries a bit with nice backend that will cover 10-15 boards easily like the Enriched Uranium ...

not sure if you need it or not .. but thought to mention it as I am not sure if any of the mentioned balls can cover this area

best of luck

Hey Trig, why not drill up a G-Force to put over your polished Carbice + ?

Maybe a Bullet in-between the HRG amd XXXL ?
