Should I Have My SCB Redrilled?
« on: March 01, 2005, 01:23:29 AM »

I have a 15# SCB drilled Max Leverage with X-hole inside VAL. With this drilling, the ball is not aggressive at all on heavy oil/fresh shot. The ball will not turn in oil. I usually have to stand 5 boards right of normal shot and play outside. When the ball does hit a dry spot outside, it finds the pocket with a moderately strong arc. I have a 16# Black Cherry Bomb drilled label with no weight hole, and the BCB goes long and makes an extremely hard turn on the backend. I never had a ball drilled with X-hole located inside VAL. Is this causing the ball to be too tame? Both the SCB and the BCB share the same core. Would it be beneficial to have the SCB redrilled for label? I like to play deep inside angles and swing the ball. My moderate 16.5 mph speed and high rev rate usually allows me to open up the lane as with the BCB, but not so with the SCB. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the SCB may be burning up. I know that the shots that the BCB works on are way too dry for the SCB.
The SCB will hook like no other ON LOTS OF OIL - but it must have LOTS OF OIL or it'll hit like a dead fish.

I agree with the above. I used my SCB last night for a 624 after I opened the first 2 frames with my Hammer Diesel Particle not finishing at all......Thanks Lane #1!!!!!!!!!!!

ur SCB is prlly drilled too strong for your style, we are kinda similar. low speed/high revs is not a good combo for a super aggressive ball that is drilled max leverage. i would guess that ur actually not seeing a condition with enough oil to actually use the SCB, ur SCB is prlly burning up. the BCB gets thru the heads much better than the SCB that basically hooks off ur hand. i would suggest a length/label layout and even with this you will still only be able to use the SCB on floods or extremely heavy heads playing deep inside cuz of ur speed/revs.
