Should I move the thumb right or left???
« on: February 23, 2008, 10:44:48 AM »
Right now I have the BB drilled pin under ring with the cg directly under it. It's a 3 inch pin...I CAN'T stand this ball right now so I have to do something. I've tried it OOB and polished and can't get this ball to do anything. Wondering if I should move the thumb right so it's more of a label drill or move the thumb left to swing the cg right? What would be the difference? Or is there any other drill I should try? PAP is 4 7/8 over 1/2 up

Definitely move the thumb to the left and kick the CG out 2" from the center of your grip. Place a hole from the center of your grip through the label out 6 3/4", drilling a small(25/32 to start) 2 1/2 - 3" deep, back to 1/2 side. The ball will come alive for you. =:^D

K&K drilled the bowling ball and thats how they drilled it.  Just as T-GOD explained it.  Its not drilled much different then Buddies except Buddies pin is under the bridge and not under the ring finger.

I'd hate to give up on a ball that so many say is great.  But what I'm not reading is all those that bought the ball jumping in and saying what a great ball it is.  I'm just reading from pro shop operators that they sold a ton and they ae seeing great scores.  But where are those posters?

Yeah, I could easily give on a ball that people say is great but what I can't do is give up on a ball that I have over $200 in...since everyone loves this ball, anyone want to trade me a Bite or Cell for it???

Nic, you said the MB was 2" right of the thumb. I'm suggesting the CG should be 2" to the right of the grip, which would put the MB 3"+ to the right. I would still like to have the statics weights on your ball.

Something just isn't adding up with your ball. Either your PAP measurements aren't correct, I don't know, but something is not right. If worse comes to worse, just call Lane #1 direct, I'm sure they would do something for you. =:^D

Ski,

i was thinking the same thing, but I have a Bite and a Cell.  Thinking about a second Cell.

Emailed Lane 1 and hope to get an answer.

T-GOD,

I measured th pin distance to CG its 2.5.  I measured from the pin through the CG making down 6 3/4 and that puts the MB at 2 3/4 right of thumb center.  I know the MB isn't marked and some bowling balls have the CG offline with the MB.

The Pin is 1/2 inch belwqo the ring finger but not quite centered of the ring finger.  Its under the ring finger but the pin marker is off to the right side of the ring finger but still underneath the ring finger.  I am usually not a down and in player.  My "A" game is to look for the swing.  Not necessarily a big swing but stand 26 over 13 at the arrows andabout 10 at the break point.  Yesterday I could stand 36 17 at the arrows about about 12 at the break point and get every ball back to the pocket.  The Complete NV would leave 10s, Bite left an occassionaly 10, Cell would go high or Brooklyn and the Buzzbomb would pick up the baby split.  Move left right, get the ball down early, loft the ball, get a very deep kne bend and really stay under the ball, flip the ball, spin the ball.  I tried a lot.  Its the ball. I agree it could be the drilling, but the surface prep and drilling is the same as the T-Road solid and the Complete NV.

NIc, I would bet the statics are horribly wrong. Like maybe zero side, some bottom and possibly thumb. Please have it checked out to confirm my hypothesis. Thanks. =:^D
