Lane 1 is replacing a Solid Cobalt I previously bought about a month ago because of a flaw. The first one was drilled 4.5 x 3.75 with Pin almost under Bridge and no weight hole. The ball got great length, but would get a bit flippy not all but some times and the hit/carry wasn't all that great plus the hit had to be a perfect hit to get a strike if I was lucky enough to get one then. There was no versality to this ball. The only plus I could find with this ball is that it did move good in carrydown and is the first ball I could move left a bit and swing the ball out a bit and have it get back to pocket with any authority. There is no arc to this ball when it turns the corner. It's more like hit the dry, make a sharp turn left and go in a straight line to the pocket.
My Enriched Uranium is drilled 4.25 x 3.5 with no weight hole and is so versatile. It has a very hard arc to the pocket once it makes it's move. I've never had a ball get as many strikes as I get with this ball and the hits don't have to be perfect hits either plus this ball seldom leaves a 10 Pin.
The Enriched Uranium is the first ball out of my bag and works extremely well on Synthetic Lanes with medium oil.
I want the Solid Cobalt for a Wood Lane House with medium oil and also to be able to use a bit on the symthetics when they develop carry down.
Sorry for the length of this here, but just trying to lay out all of the details and I am asking for drilling advice from some of you that have had success with the Solid Caobalt. My game/style is in my profile.

Brick,
I would suggest a 3" pin with the pin right under the ring and the CG out with the diamond turned to 11 oclock and 5 o clock with the ending statics at 1/2oz side and 1/2oz finger weight. This is how mine is drilled and it is very versatile and carries very well. One of the few buzzsaws I have retained for myself as it is one of the few times the rep gave me a good layout suggestion. Good luck with it.

My is drilled like Charles, except the pin is above the ring finger, not above. Great ball!!

I told him in pm you would have a recommendation Trig...hehe

Wrong ball for what you are trying to do, the solid uranium or the new g-force would have been better choices. I did try to warn you in the pm, sell the ball or trade it for either of those.
The cover and core on the solid cobalt is not going to be smooth by nature just my opinion and trying to save you time and money.

See mine in my sig Brick. I have a X-hole on my PAP in order to tame it down a bit (this one flares a ton and I wouldn't want it to flare over the X-hole). It gives me a good midlane read and has an aggressive backend. The hit and carry is tremendous. It carries high, flush, and light hits. I get messengers from all over.

By the way, what was the flaw Brick?

No more help needed. Thanks to those that made sugestions.I drilled the ball and it works. Same layout as the one I returned to Lane 1.
Tried the ball on synthetic lanes after drilling. Threw 3 practice balls and then punched in my name and bowled 244-226-225 for a 695 series. A 4-7-9 split in the second game and a 7-10 split and a missed 10 Pin in the third game kept me from shooting 700. Regardless, I am happy with the results.
