Solid Cobalt- wow!
« on: August 24, 2006, 04:58:11 PM »
Ok so this is just a tease for now, but I am going to post a little more info coming up soon.  Need time to take a couple of pics and wanna throw it a couple more times, but my first impressions are good!

I threw it for the first time tonight and it was very impressive; I was bowling for money so I didn't try to learn a new ball in the middle of the tournament, but got a few practice shots in as well as a couple of frames.

I think this ball is going to make me some money!  Fits perfectly between my Scorchin'/Solid Uranium spot and my Tsunami.  More to come...

Left it in box surface (not sure what grit that would be).  Compared to the Awesome Hook: a little better push through the heads, slight midlane read, a bit more backend.  I'd call it a tight backend arc, not quite what I would call a snap.  Actually very comparable to my Scorchin' that has taken on a shine over many games (could throw on same line), but a little more on the back.

In about 8 or so tosses, I stoned 3 nine pins!  I think this ball will let me be more aggressive with my speed (which I like).  I think that will result in an increase in carry percentage for me.

Had to go with the Tsunami tonight though; started out slow but finished with a 686, nice and consistent.

Definitely more like the Black Cherry Bomb because it is a decent amount more angular on the back.  The Blueberry was very even, like the Tsunami.

Yeah I will give the disclaimer that all of my opinions are based on MY Solid Cobalt Bomb and MY Tsunami, as well as MY Black Cherry and Blueberry.  Obviously it depends on how you lay it out; I wanted to compare my Pearl Cobalt and Solid Cobalt with the same layout (label-stacked, according to the drill sheet).
