Solid Uranium ?
« on: March 16, 2007, 06:15:47 PM »
From my last topic, I was asking opinion between the Tsunami and the Solid Uranium. And from the feedback I have decided to get the Tsunami and off I when to the Pro Shop. When I was there, the Pro shop owner told me that he has one last Solid Uranium and if I am interested, he is willing to give me a good discount for it.
My question is should I get the Solid instead of the Tsunami ? What can I aspect from this ball? How is it compare to my Carbide Plus and the Enriched Uranium ? Any other information about this ball is most welcome.....thanks

Here's my results, with two differnt SU's.

First one, pin over ring, cg kicked right, weight hole. This ball I could play up the boards, and get some great backend. It carried very well, and drove hard all the way through the deck. The surface could be tweaked easily for heavier oil-lighter oil also.

Second one, pin under ring, cg kicked right, weight hole. This one is a beast. I've only used it at 800 grit for now. This drilling for me is very controlled, still has great backend, and hit's HARD.

I've had two Tsunami's, two Carbide+'s, and it out performed both of them a ton. For me, it covered alot more boards, was overall stronger, carried better, and was more versitle than both of those balls. The surface can be changed to cover many conditions. IMO I think it can handle for oil than the C+ and EU.

Just my .2 on my SU experiences.

Get that Solid Uranium!

It is stronger than the Carbide + in oil, and it is smoother than the Enriched. The cover is also very versatile (responds well to sanding or polishing). I have two of the Solid Us and they are right near the top of my "favorites" list.

I couldn't really compare the SU and the Tsunami.  I have two of both.  I have one Tsunami drilled just like one SU and in my opinion the SU picks up the lane a lot faster and the Tsunami has more back end.  I polished my second SU for playing down and in and my Tsumai is drilled similar.  On a med/light oil shot my Tsunami outperformed the polished SU.  On Medium/wet the SU outperformed the Tsunami.

I carry the SU, recently put the EU back in my bag and just ordered a second EU.  That being aid the EU is not as controllable as the Tsunami and I will probably leave the EUs at home when I travel to Nationals and bring the SU, Tsunami and the BCB abd probably the Bullet.  I'll take a spare ball and two other Lane 1 balls ( but possible a Storm Hybrid with the pin drilled out in the middle finger and cg right of thumb)

I am still not finding a shot for either of my G-Forces.

Good luck and with the right lane condition, both balls will perform tremendously.
