Solid Uranium...Highest Hook Rating Of All Balls
« on: September 23, 2004, 07:35:17 AM »
After reading Jimmy T's post, I went back through the BTM magazine and looked at the hook ratings for all balls released in the last 6 months.

With the corrected hook rating of 52, the Solid Uranium is the biggest hooker of them all..!! Only the Goliath has the same score as the Solid Uranium. The Goliath is a dull, high load particle ball, so it won't get much everday use.

Lane #1 still rules..!! =:^D

I'm pretty sure that there are quite a few ratings in the 50-54 range.  I think the Super Carbide Bomb is the biggest at 56.  Maybe Reaction Arc or something else tied it?  What does having the highest hook rating have to do with anything?  I'm sure you can still find a few Tombstone's at the bottom of many lakes if you want something that hooks in your backswing.  Who sees enough oil on a regular basis to use most of these things anyway?

BTM (with reservations)

I don't have all back issues but of the ones I have the Reaction Arc got the highest rating 58. Others of 52 or above (there are more than I list)

Track Mutant 56
Track Freak 54
Track Phenom Unleashed 54
Track Phenom 52
Track Rule 51
... it is interesting that Track itself gives the Rule the largest hook rating of the above

btw Lane #1 Black Cherry Bomb 52

I'm not sure if BTM revised their hook ratings index, but my post was referring to all balls released in the last 6 months. There was a seperate page in Septembers BTM that showed the numbers for these balls. =:^D
