Someone help, get this man a neck brace!!
« on: October 20, 2005, 05:36:45 AM »
Alright guys,
Just came back from throwing my new Lane #1 Tsunami h20.  This is my first buzzsaw so I was excited yet skeptical about all the praise they get.
Here are my stats:

speed:17-18mph
medium revs
ball is drilled using Doug Sterner's favorite benchmark drill; 4" pin to pap with the mass bias strong or kicked slightly to the left (lefthanded)
I was playing a few different lines on a THS 15-5, 20-10, straight up 10, yadayada.  At first I wasn't really warmed up and I thought I was sucked in by the "hype", 'cause the ball was just ok.  But then things got heated up.  Bam all ten in the pit, scouts flying, pins jumping, yet it kept the pins low on the deck.  I didn't come out of the gates with unimaginable scores and I'm not claiming to be a score machine.  I had games of 194-257-222-194 a few tugged shots and missed 7 pins ohh well.  But I did notice that I could carry the corners more than usual with this ball.  But I can say this, the ball was very smooth not jumpy or jerky at all, very predictable.
Now for the title of this post.  I was throwing a few shots and found the groove.  I rattled off strike after strike.  I think it was my 5th in a row that caused a reaction I'll never forget.  There was a retired league going  3sets down.  One fella was one the approach when the ball absolutely crushed the pins, it sounded like a car wreck.  His head snapped around so fast to see that he damn near fell.  The look on his face was priceless.  I proceeded to rattle of 2 more of these ear shattering blasts when another fella turned and said,  "I don't even need to look I know that was a strike for how loud it was.  I don't even have my hearing aids in."  The funny thing is his wife nodded and said he had left them home.  Sorry for the length but for this it was all worth it.  BY THE WAY THANKS DOUG!!!!

bigfour,,

the ONLY way a Buzzsaw will hit like a marshmallow, is if you throw it like one, or it is drilled wrong. On second though, even if you are a fluffer these balls will make people think you actually have hitting power, because nothing would ever make these balls hit like a marshmallow!!

Doug,
I know what you mean, ever since Friday my life has been so different.  It's taken on a whole new meaning.  I have a reason for being here.  Life isn't just about grinding it out and making due.  I love it.  Problem is that now I have a bad addiction to saws!!

I wanna see if I can get some used ones in good shape and try a few.  My wife likes when I save money. LOL.  I just need to find a lefty with specs close to mine or someone who doesn't mind plugging and drilling for cheap.  There was a guy around these parts, he charged a flat $20 for plug and drill but he stopped a few years ago.

Tom,

feel free to have anybody ship the ball to me and I'll dothe plug and redrill for you at a reasonable fee.

I have a couple used balls for sale...Super Carbide and a Blueberry (maybe).

The SC was plugged and redrilled alreaeyd but I think you'd still be clean for a lefty drill...

bigfour it was a joke of sorts,  just sick of people coming in our forum and putting the equipment down.  Guys that bowl with Lane1 equipment don't go in other forums and put down their equipment down,  but you know I may change that as this has been going on for years.

Oh,  and one other thing AMF Triumph please...
