Title: Someone help, get this man a neck brace!!
Post by: tommymo on October 20, 2005, 05:36:45 AM
Alright guys,
Just came back from throwing my new Lane #1 Tsunami h20.  This is my first buzzsaw so I was excited yet skeptical about all the praise they get.
Here are my stats:

speed:17-18mph
medium revs
ball is drilled using Doug Sterner's favorite benchmark drill; 4" pin to pap with the mass bias strong or kicked slightly to the left (lefthanded)
I was playing a few different lines on a THS 15-5, 20-10, straight up 10, yadayada.  At first I wasn't really warmed up and I thought I was sucked in by the "hype", 'cause the ball was just ok.  But then things got heated up.  Bam all ten in the pit, scouts flying, pins jumping, yet it kept the pins low on the deck.  I didn't come out of the gates with unimaginable scores and I'm not claiming to be a score machine.  I had games of 194-257-222-194 a few tugged shots and missed 7 pins ohh well.  But I did notice that I could carry the corners more than usual with this ball.  But I can say this, the ball was very smooth not jumpy or jerky at all, very predictable.
Now for the title of this post.  I was throwing a few shots and found the groove.  I rattled off strike after strike.  I think it was my 5th in a row that caused a reaction I'll never forget.  There was a retired league going  3sets down.  One fella was one the approach when the ball absolutely crushed the pins, it sounded like a car wreck.  His head snapped around so fast to see that he damn near fell.  The look on his face was priceless.  I proceeded to rattle of 2 more of these ear shattering blasts when another fella turned and said,  "I don't even need to look I know that was a strike for how loud it was.  I don't even have my hearing aids in."  The funny thing is his wife nodded and said he had left them home.  Sorry for the length but for this it was all worth it.  BY THE WAY THANKS DOUG!!!!

"yet it kept the pins low on the deck"

that what you will see always with lane#1 balls ... since I started using lane#1 only, no more quick 8 .. or some weird action because some pins went flying ...

Thanks for the props Tom...guys with solid games like your's make pro shop operators' jobs easy :-)

I also am still loving life with my Tsunami...smooth, strong roll with a big time crunch at the pins.

I have collected a few other balls recently but they are all going bye bye in favor of going back to an all Lane 1 arsenal...

Thanks again my friend.

Well I am working on becoming a FOS member and all I can say is Doug talked me into trying one and then the Tsunami came out and you guessed now I have 2.  I make life hard for Doug because I am a pain in the butt I want hard hooking equiptment to arc untill I hit it.  Well Doug and I put our heads together and found a way to accomplish that with Lane 1 products.  I mainly want to say yes this ball hits a ton and if drilled correctly can fit into anyones arsenal.  Many thanks to Doug and the Lane 1 boys.

Though I now throw lane 1 i can still leave solid ten pins.  God gave everyone tallent but if you leave ten pins regularly that is an art fourm.

Yeah I am hoping I can convince my wife to let me purchase another one in a few months, if not I am not scared because I am sure Lane #1 will keep producing gems like these.  Had to miss my first league nite with it, but I had a good excuse.  My daughter was born.  But she did stay in mommy's belly long enough so that I could throw a few games with it Thursday night. As soon  as we got home my wife started to have contractions.  Then on Friday 10-21 at 3:53p.m. she was born.  League started at 7 on Friday but there was no way in he!! I was leaving my girls.

Yeah all I do is flood Doug's e-mail with questions, we must go round in circles for weeks.  Finally, this time we came to a conclusion.  And thank goodness.  So far it has been smooth and predictable, unlike most of the balls I have thrown.  I usually have to make a lot of adjustments with new equipment to get it to perform the way I'd like.

Hey Bigfour if your Lane #1 stuff hits like marshmallows I would be glad to take them off your hands.  For me it has already out performed most of the storm, brunswick and columbia stuff I have had.

bigfour,,

the ONLY way a Buzzsaw will hit like a marshmallow, is if you throw it like one, or it is drilled wrong. On second though, even if you are a fluffer these balls will make people think you actually have hitting power, because nothing would ever make these balls hit like a marshmallow!!

Doug,
I know what you mean, ever since Friday my life has been so different.  It's taken on a whole new meaning.  I have a reason for being here.  Life isn't just about grinding it out and making due.  I love it.  Problem is that now I have a bad addiction to saws!!

I wanna see if I can get some used ones in good shape and try a few.  My wife likes when I save money. LOL.  I just need to find a lefty with specs close to mine or someone who doesn't mind plugging and drilling for cheap.  There was a guy around these parts, he charged a flat $20 for plug and drill but he stopped a few years ago.

Tom,

feel free to have anybody ship the ball to me and I'll dothe plug and redrill for you at a reasonable fee.

I have a couple used balls for sale...Super Carbide and a Blueberry (maybe).

The SC was plugged and redrilled alreaeyd but I think you'd still be clean for a lefty drill...

thebigfour you had to chime in but I see your name and now know why you chimed in you must be looking for equipment from Lane#1 because the stuff you use leaves thebigfour.

bigfour it was a joke of sorts,  just sick of people coming in our forum and putting the equipment down.  Guys that bowl with Lane1 equipment don't go in other forums and put down their equipment down,  but you know I may change that as this has been going on for years.
