help me out here
« on: January 21, 2005, 04:05:48 AM »
Ok, they've "tweaked" the shot again.  My Uranium has become way too strong on the back end.  My Bullet will work, but it's not really intended for this shot (oil in heads and mids, double stripped back ends).  I'm currently reduced to my Silver Streak Particle to tame the backs, but it's stronger than I'd like thru the mids.  What buzzsaw can I get that will work on this?

I had originally thought of the GN, but it's resin so I'm not sure; also talked with a Lane #1 guy and he suggested maybe the SCB.  I'm sort of inclined that way (staying with particle to tame the back ends).  Shocker, I'm a little fearful of the "big recovery".  The backs are the problem now.  What I'm really looking for is something I can play quite deep with that won't over react on the back but will still get back.  For some reason I think Particle is the way to go.  With my Uranium I'm about 5 boards from the ball return (even no. lane), hitting 10 at 50 feet, but not carrying although in the hole.  If I don't get out to 10 or so it's beakish.  With my SSP I'm about 25 with my feet hitting 10 board at about 20 feet.  It still has almost too much "recovery" unless my speed is up.  I'm wondering about the Dirty Bomb Hybrid?  Is it particle?

Rags... the GN is particle pearl.  Polished these are a little more resistant to carrydown than their pearl reactive cousins.  Scuffed they don't burn out as bad as a particle ball would.  I wouldn't think that a SCB would finish well when you are using the Bullet with some success, or think you could use it.

I feel the higher Rg GN would push further through the mids than your SSP.

Just my $0.02.

Sounds like the problem I'm having at my house.  You need a good control ball.  Something that is predictable and doesn't skid too much nor jump too much on the backend.  What is Lane#1's control ball these days?

Rags not to advise against the guys at lane#1 but it sounds to me what you want is the solid Uranium, reactive that rolls like particle, this was one of the grabbiest covers I have ever had.  I would drill it just like your pearl U and it will read earlier and not hook as much on the backend which to me sounds like what your looking for.  I think it would be a perfedct fit.  SCB would probably end up a marshmellow by the time it was in the pocket.
