Title: stack or label
Post by: c1buck on February 24, 2008, 09:24:11 AM
Going to get a buzzbomb. What is the over all difference in the drillings. I am stroker with ball speed around 14 mph and a high tracker. Not for sure of my pap.

Wow...I don't care who you are, that's funny.  On a serious note, I drilled mine pin under ring with the cg @ 45*, and I haven't been impressed with it yet.  I am by no means bashing the ball, just trying to figure it out.  I don't know if I am not on enough oil or what, but am open to suggestions.  I might trying going higher in grit or adding a small amount of polish.

Mine is drilled label, and while this drilling has worked well for me in the past,  I have posted previously that my Buzzbomb doesn't give me a very good reaction.

While I have left the cover in box condition, I am leaning towards the layout choice as the reason for the poor reaction, based on some of the info I have gathered here as well as gaining more and more experience with the ball.

I believe mine is over-flaring, using all of its energy too early in the lane and it is pooping out at the back.  My flare rings are separated by a good 3/8" in the oil, and watching it roll down the lane and puke on the back is giving me the opinion that I need a new layout.  I know that others here have already recommended this, thanks.

I would choose a layout that give a more moderate amount of flare.  Obviously the core in this ball is STRONG, and if you max it out at 3 3/8 like I did, there is a strong possibility that it will die on the back, even if you have oil to work with (like I do).  I made the mistake of believing that having a good amount of oil to work with would save me from loss of energy on the backend.
