Does the Starburst XXXL could be used as a spare ball?
I have a Hammer Blue Spare and I need a new spare ball bacause I need to go down in weight.
Is it worth to pay the extra $$$ for the Starburst or it is better to buy a WD and save the money?

Roger,
If you will occasionally encounter really dry conditions where you would need to use a polyester ( plastic ) ball as your main weapon, then YES, the investment is worth it because the xxxl is a much better strike ball than an ordinary whitedot.
If, however, you are only looking for a spare ball and NOTHING else, then NO, the expense isn't worth it.
I have them both and am speaking from experience. The xxxl strikes much better than the whitedot that I have, but is still very easy to go crosslane at the ten pin for me.

Agreed.
For a spare ball only, why spend the additional money? Plastic is plastic when you are throwing it straight at your spares.
However, if you are ever going to use it as a dry lane ball, no other plastic ball carries like the XXXL. Spending the extra dough for this use is well worth it.

the XXXL is special (no matter what color!)
Plastic with core = spareball on oil + strike ball on dry (except if you have revs like crazy)
