G Force Nebula
« on: December 08, 2007, 11:34:45 PM »
A question to all who owns a G Force Nebula...for you, what is the best lane condition to play this ball on ? Can it be the benchmark ball ?

Supernova is a ball for mid heavy to medium oil ?
So do you think the SuperNova, Nebula and the XP make a good 3 ball arsenal ?
Mid heavy to medium - SuperNova
Medium & benchmark ball - Nebula
Medium to light - Supernova XP.

All comments are welcome....

I really like my Nebula....when the Evolution or XP are too skiddy and I need more midlane roll, the Nebula is the goto ball.

I really like this ball when I have a good amount of oil in the mids.

It can be a benchmark ball IF you have the midlane oil to hold it.

I know you asked Doug, but I'll throw in my two cents as well.
For me, the Nebula is a fair amount stronger than the EU. The Nebula definitely revs up more in the midlane. The EU skates a bit more in the mids and then makes a sharper move off the dry.

I found the Enriched to be a bit too finicky for me. The cover was more length than hook for me. I never matched up very well with the EU.

The EU was very rolly for me....much more than the Nebula.

I find that i can use the Nebula on a variety of conditions just by changing my hand position. The EU was not as responsive to those changes IMO.

I think the core and cover match up of the Nebula is much better than in the EU. The coverstock is especially versatile on this ball.

Well,

I just drilled a Nebula last night and used it. I was getting alot of over under on the lanes I was on. This ball took no notice to any over/under. This is by far the best buzz saw I ever used. I was the only person who broke 600 on our pair so, last night it earned itself a spot in my bag. I may have been the only person to break 580. So IMO the Nebula is the best lane 1 ball made.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but that is a very bold claim that many would not agree with. There is nothing wrong with the Nebula, but I can think of a dozen (or thirty two) other saws that would give it a run for the top spot. Let's ask...

I never said it was the best one ever made, I just said that it is the best one made. Right now you dont see a purple pro being made in mass production. So my statement isnt as bold as you say. Also I cant stand when someone comes onto a forum for a company they try, liked a ball. They say they liked it, and then kinda get hazed for saying they liked a ball a company made. I liked the HRG when I had it but the Nebula is better then that ball.

Still not making sense there, scooter.

See, this is going to look pissy and technical, but you did say "best ball made" without qualifying that statement. From this side of the screen, how is a reader to know whether you meant "ever", or "of Global covers", or of "Columbia covers", or of "currently listed on Lane #1 website", or of "in scooter's bag right now", or however else you wish to qualify your statement.

Say what you mean. Mean what you say.

As for the Nebula being the best "current ball"?
You will get more votes for the Supernova. It is useable over a wider range of conditions. Is the Nebula a good ball? Yes. As long as you are matched up with it (and this is true of any ball).

As for the Nebula being a better ball than the HRG???
WTF mate! They are two very different pieces.
I know some guys are shooting great scores with the Nebula, while I happen to be averaging 250 over the last three outings with the HRG. Does that make one ball better than the other? Nope. Just different. The Nebula would hook off my hand at one local house. The HRG is the perfect balance of low flare and mild cover, yet still hits and carries very good. It's all about matching up.

I know you shot well with the Nebula and you are excited about it. But to come on here (as the representative of a pro shop) and say it's the "best ball"...well, there are alot of "less educated" who will take your opinion as gospel and run out to buy a ball that may not suit them. This site is, in fact, BALLREVIEWS, so I just ask that you put a little more thought into your review. Nothing wrong with saying you shot well with it and it's a great ball.

Just sayin'

I have yet to give  full review of the ball. The more I use it the more I like it. The fact is, I have thrown alot of Buzzsaws. This is the only one I would really seam to recomend to everyone. Now when I give a full review I will pull punches. However I feel it may be the core in this ball. So I will end up trying some of the other W.A.S/ W.A.S. version cores. However my statement about it being the best lane 1 ball made stands for right now, on the market and is my opinon.

Exactly Mike......use whatever works best for you and you are most comfortable with.

Personally Storm balls work better for me but I choose Lane 1 product. Why on Earth would I do that? Well it is quite simple....I have an easier time adjusting with Lane 1 balls due to their controllable, rolly nature. Although I can score higher with the Storm products I find them much more sensitive to lane changes and require more thought and effort to keep in the groove.

So I choose Lane 1....right now I am in love with my XP and Nebula. Throw in the Evolution for when the lanes break down and I have a full league shot arsenal. I have also had quite a bit of success with the above trio on PBA and SPORT shots....again, smooth and predictable. I like it!!!!
