Cherry Bomb Q's???
« on: February 20, 2005, 02:48:07 PM »
I love my cherry bomb. Hardest hitting best carrying ball I own. I have previously owned a Uranium, XXL, and Nugget. Never gave the nugget much chance, but the uranium would not move. Granted I did not try to alter anything but no matter what I did ( release changes and different alley's) that ball, it was no monster for me compared to what everyone else said. Not that I wouldn't love to have one to drill up the way I want ( I bought it used and kept its drill). The XXL I threw one game fi that. It wasn't that I didn't like what I saw but I decided I had too many balls and needed tog et rid of a bunch.

Anyway, back to my question. I noticed on buddies that the nugget was being sold at $110. Thats insanely cheap for a lane #1. I assume it is being discontinued. But, either way...

Anyone know when the cherry bomb will be discontinued? Or a price drop? I'd love to grab a few of these gems and stuff them away. So far, its the only lane #1 that has worked out well for me.

LMK. Thanks.

Ok, thanks.

Anyone know what the procedure is to return the cherry bomb to out of box finish? I think I may resurface it soon and would like to have it back to out of box finish.

LMK. Thanks.

golden nugget is discontinued....  Beginning next year, there will no longer be any balls with the bomb (cherry, black cherry, and super carbide) core, as per new regulations with the USBC (requires a lower differential than these cores have), so I would say that these balls will all be discontinued sometime between now and the end of the year....if I had to guess, I would say sometime around the summer...therefore Lane#1 can get a new lineup ready for the Fall (beginning of leagues etc).
As far a resurfacing...  I believe the cherry bombs are like any of brunswick's high gloss finishes...  wet sanded to 400 grit then polished with brunswick high gloss finish.
