6 ball Lane 1 arsenal
« on: May 02, 2004, 07:03:46 AM »
Hey sawheads, I'm trying to create a well-rounded 6-ball arsenal of all Lane 1 gear, and I think I may have it. Here's what I've got:

Flood: ----
Heavy: Black Cherry Bomb (Slightly polished with a stacked drilling)
Mediums: Uranium (Box finish with a stacked drilling)
Carrydown: ----
Light: XL (Box finish with a pin-axis drilling)
Burnt/spares: XXXL (Box finish with a stacked drilling)

I know that there are variations on mediums and lights and whatnot, but I'm going with 6 balls, max. As you can see, I have four right now, and I was thinking that the Golden Nugget could be my go-to ball when the heads are starting to go but there is some carrydown while the Super Carbide Bomb would be a nice option for floods. What do you guys and gals think? If you agree with those choices, do you have any suggestions for drillings? Any help would be appreciated.

Bowling is without a doubt the dumbest, most pointless, most idiotic excuse for a game that has ever been invented. So, what time are we bowling tomorrow?

Golden Nugget for carry down if you want all Lane 1 balls.

Here is mine.

Pearl Carbide Bomb. Pin under cg swung. Xhole.
Carbide Bomb. Pin over cg swung. No Xhole.
Golden Nugget. Pin under ring cg swung Xhole.
Pro Purple. Pin over cg swung no Xhole but I am considering
punching one in it to take some side out.
Viper. pin under cg swung.
XXXL. Pin under ring cg in palm.

Viper gets almost no use.
I use the other 5 almost exclusively.
Also have in the car a Deep Danger Zone for when nothing
else works.

These cover all conditions I see. They do have varying surfaces on them to fit
where I use them.

My biggest hooking ball is the Pearl Carbide Bomb.
The Nugget starts earlier than the PCB.
Most arcing ball is the Carbide Bomb.
Pro Purple is 6-8 boards weaker on the same line as the Carbide Bomb.
Viper gets pronounced length with decent backends.
I get 3" of flare with my XXXL on drier shots, but can line
up and get to the pocket on most lighter oil.

I would recommend the Golden Nugget for carrydown. As long as I keep
mine polished/clean it seems to not recognize it.
