If it the pearl model i personally would pass on it, if it is the solid carbide i would buy it and i would not pay more 50-60 bucks for it. It is a particle ball made with the older proactive brunswick coverstock this is very well known to die within 150 games or so. If this ball needs resurface skip it and contact drillwizard for a better condition one. It revs very hard and handles up to meduim heavy oil down to medium with carrydown pretty good, i have over 100 balls and still consider it in my top 10 still 4 years later. Mine has lost about 5 boards of hook but like all saws arcs so dont waste your time with skid/snap drills because of the core shape it just doesnt roll correctly skid/snap. Go for 4x4 to 4x5 area and you will like the ball on most shots go 3 3/8x3 3/8 and it will burn on dryer heads, i have mine basically label leverage and i think that is way the ball has survived so long even though like almost saw i own it has numerous finger cracks and a small crack to the pin from the finger. If it the pearl model pass on it because it rolls out just past the arrows and it is a dud hit wise because it is also cracked i use it for practice only just to get my money out of it. I hope this helps i almost have had every saw at one time or the other!!!

barry, how could i tell the difference between the solid and the pearl? would the coverstock be dull with the solid?

the ball is brand new, and they want $150. i dunno how it would compliment my game, so i dont want to dump $150 just for the manufacturer of the ball.

<--- lefty, tweener, medium speed and medium revs

My offer would be 150 out the door for a brand new solid one ask your proshop operator to verify which one or just ask to see the box if they kept it. The pearl one is more of medium blue with a metallic look to it in the light and the solid is darker blue and dull looking but more smooth looking than porous. They like to crack but in my opinion it is the best buzzsaw to buy shiny it goes longer and box finish is very playable on most shots especially in left oil. Lane one when the ball was in production actually replaced my ball and gave me a brand new ball free of charge but the second one cracked also and then because the ball went out of production my proshop could not get me a third ball for free. I have only one saw that never cracked it is the silver diamond model but cracks around the fingers to me mean nothing because the ball hits and rolls great. I like all brands and recently have been buying seconds from ebay that roll just as good as new ones and i have under a 100.00 in each ball. So unless it a 7 inch pin dont be afraid to buy x blems in my case it cometics only and performance is just as good. If i picekd one saw for all shots it would be the solid carbide ball so for 150.00 i will leave it up to you but i paid that when the ball was the hot ball to buy 4 years ago. Good luck and happy bowling-barry
