OK, a buddy of mine drilled up a Super Carbide Bomb tonight. I was fully expecting this thing to just hook over to the next lane. I was wrong. So we went in and sanded it down to 400scotchbrite. The Phenom was sanded 800 Scotchbrite.
Anyhow, the Phenom hooked about 5 boards more and the SCB was drilled leverage, CG stacked below. The Phenom was drilled 4(pin)x 4(MB), a strong drilling, but not as strong as the SCB. I was very disappointed in the performance of the SCB. The hit/pin action was not there either.
I guess I will see what it does after a little more use. The pattern being used was 42ft buffed to 45 ft. 6 board to 6 board. Heavy oil!!! So there is no way the ball was burning up.
Has anyone else had this ball and were just totally disappointed in it?
At this point, the Phenom is much stronger in HOOK, and HIT...and definately in pin action. My question so far with this ball, is why would someone buy one of these when they can get a Phenom for much less.....and get far better results?
NOW---before you lane 1 lovers start getting overly defensive, this is just my observation of 2 bowling balls thrown side by side. I am able to throw this guy's equipment and the results were the same with me throwing them, and I throw a much stronger ball than he does. Actually, with me throwing the SCB, I can say it does not hook as much as these balls I have: Anomaly, Fear Factor, Phenom, Phenom Unleashed, Element, Raging Inferno.
Should my opinion change, I will surely post back and let everyone know.
