supernova
« on: September 14, 2007, 06:10:50 AM »
Drilled up my ball last night...2.5 pin, stacked 4 x 4...689 out the box..
Played on a house shot, second shift, so conditions were right for a high score...ball was very strong, so much so that at 18mph, it still finished in the pocket, where my eu would maybe come in light...backing down my ball speed to 16.5,allowed me to play deeper and the ball really turned hard....my fav was the eu, but i'm now thinking it could be the supernova.......

i think you are gonna love it...... this ball hits hard, keeps the pins low on the deck, has great carry....should be a best seller in the g force line! loved the orginal g force, liked the evo and nebula, but this ball is magic!

where would you set this ball condition like?

is it more of an oiler as the G-Force or more towards med?

this ball is a midlane monster, would not hesitate to throw it on some juice.  I have mine drilled 5.5 x 5 roughly and it is still a mid lane beast on med oil, I polished this weekend and will try it this week to see if that settled the mids down.  great ball hits super, and can handle longer oil, its just a little early for my heavy hand right now.  for the majority of average players, I can see this being a great first out ball

roughly 1000 i do believe, i took mine up closer to 2k and loved the reaction tonight, tamed the mids down but kept the backs great.  i will continue to keep the cover in this condition as i love the reaction i am gettin out of it now

1000 grit polished. I'm wondering if the ball will keep its strong reaction with longer oil patterns due to its polish. Or would you guys use something else for a longer, heavy oil pattern?

I took mine up with track black magic, and what that did to the ball was smooth out the midlane and increase my back end retnetion.  on longer oil i just move right and go more up the boards this ball retains a ton, in box state it is suited really well for a longer oil shot

i have now used my supernova at two different houses..both have a house shot, one first, one second shift...i start with the nova and then try other balls , but always go back to the supernova as it really is a ball you can rely on. when the shot breaks down and has carrydown, i slow the ball speed, where on a fresh shot with a drier back end, let it rip....the ball rolls so well and so far, i have shot 3 x 650 plus series and one 613...i like using all my saws but this one does it all....

The sheet on the Supernova says it comes Highly polished. The ones I have seen are all polished. Maybe Trigg got a test ball that was matte finish or something.

Wow, so far I have only heard good things about the SuperNova...I have one but seldom have a chance to use it as my Solid G Force is still doing a fantastic job for me....maybe I will just try it out during this coming Thurs league....

for me, the supernova hooks more on the house shot than the solid g force(which i also love)....as with most heavy oil balls, they need oil or they roll out..the nova really is the best league ball out of the g force series in my opinion....
