SuperNova XP...
« on: April 03, 2009, 08:39:29 AM »
I just picked up a G-Force SuperNova XP.
It's drilled pin about 4" from Axis, Cg stacked.
Ball was never thrown...so the bowler couldn't tell me what to expect.

I have a Nebula, and Carbide Plus as my only Lane #1 balls.

My PAP is about 5-3/4, 3/4"up.

Is this ball skid flippy? Reactive? Particle?

TIA,

Definitely a manageable ball down the lane.  But it is skid/flip with that drilling.  Check out the vid by Buzzsaw Mike on Lane 1's site.  www.lane1bowling.com/videos.  It's an awesome ball.  You won't be disappointed.  Be ready for a reaction like the C+.  This ball kills medium, medium-oily shots.  Amazing.

it very angular , and a wee bit sensitive to carry down, but first game and a 1/2 is the oil holds up its money

one of my favs, and it carries at least 20% better than all the other mfg's ')

go roll it, and then call me a liar

This is the only decent ball I've seen from that L1 era. Liked absolutely none of the other G-forces and haven't really cared for any L1 ball besides the XP.

The XP is a versatile ball. You'll be very happy with it. If not, let me know and I'll take it off your hands!

Thanks for the responses...

SuperNova XP, just looks like a super ball.

When I fill the fingers and re-drill them, I'll let you know how it worked out.

You've got a good ball! Great carrying ball, shot 735 last year on a set of lanes where only 1 more person shot a 600 barely (6 0ut 10 were 195+avg) I never forget how good that felt

Duke,

I've got one and it's the most unique Lane #1 ball they make, IMO. Seems versatile, very strong, can be very angular if you polish it up, which I have done to mine. I believe you will like it. After finding it a little hard to control at first, it's really grown on me lately.
