OK first I'll add the disclaimer....the tourney was unsanctioned and a no-tap tourney....

I was sucked into the pro shop so I missed practice...well I got to throw a ball on each lane.

At that point I threw the first one then left the wobbliest (is that a word???) 7 pin but hey...no tap so it counts right? Flushed the next one...stone 10 pin next frame, strike, 9 pin, went sheet...no tap 300 yee ha!!! Was clean on the left lane and only 3 serious rip taps on the left....ok.

Second game....double, smash 7 pin, double, stone 9, off the sheet...300 again!

At this point I had 5 non-strikes and all were on the left lane, pocket shots and could have dropped as easy as they stood.

Well, onto the 3rd game....already had a bunch of people PO'd at me for taking the high game jackpot with the pair of 300's. Last game was more of the same... 3 bagger, stone 9, double, went a touch high and left the 6-10, picked it up, stone 10 pin and went sheet for 278. That makes 878 for the set.

I wish I could have said that each and every shot came off my hand clean and smooth but I had some issues. I was all over the pocket but some were a bit high and others a bit light but I was as close to being "in the zone" as I have ever been.

Again thanks to Lane 1 for putting out such an awesome ball...I have not been in love with a ball like this since the Emerald....

Yes I Know...no tap but you know what?  You still have to throw the ball..

I shot 750 with 4 opens last weekend (Singles, State Tournament)with mine......
only the 3 rd time I've thrown it. missed 3  10's and a 7 pin.

300 is not 300...its notap...it may be a nice ball but figjamimg about notap scores...what has this world come to...

That's exactly right Moe....it's been a long time since I had fun bowling. The release of the BuzzBomb brought me around some and picking up the 7-10 last Friday helped too.

This was the icing on the cake for the season... proving to myself that I can throw the ball and throw it well. Only 5 frames without a normal 10 pins down strike is far better than I have done in a long time.....

hey... what pattern was there and how do you rate the BB for a MEd-oily 40ft THS - broader than the usual ...

I know this is OT but I am planning my next purchase and the BB is one candidate

Grayson,

The BuzzBomb is about teh most versatile ball I have ever thrown. In box finish the ball was WAY too much ball for our house shot which is 38 feet long, 55 units 15 to 15, 20 units on 15 blended down to about 5 at the edges.

I just redrilled another Buzzbomb I picked up in a trade deal and I went with the Rico layout. This ball lis a monster. It revs early and mever stops hooking. It doesn't snap but man does it roll and roll hard....

I'd suggest you try one...you won't be disappointed. Just be sure to order a higher top weight than you normally would in another ball.

so the ball needs some tw after drilling... and fingerweight,too... from what I have heard/read so far...


the problem is... I could get a used Uranium in good shape for a reasonable price...

I feel the problem is that the core and cover are so strong when you drill them and introduce asymmetry to the core it causes an overreaction. If the weights are kept up this will help fight the reaction caused by the asymmetry and allow the ball's original dynamics to come through.

The original Pearl Uranium is no slouch and I really liked the Solid Uranium as well. The Enriched never got much play time from me since I just flat out drilled it wrong.

You like the ball, that's great.

But 300 is not 300 when it is no-tap, PUHLEEEZE.
FIGJAM all you want, it's a good accomplishment, and I don't want to take much awa from it, but it's not real, it's no tap. You probably shot about 760 without it, guessing from your statements, which is nothing to sneeze at.

But get real a no-tap 300 is as worthless as a confederate dollar. And anyone saying differently is just a maroon.

Well Jorge I am sorry for feeling good about myself and finally having some fun while bolwing.

24 balls in the pocket is 24 balls in the pocket...an accomplishmewnt for me at our house. The fact that it was during an end of season no tap tourney is just a coincidence.

Any one of the 24 shots could have easily been a 7-10 split or anything else that would be as demoralizing as an 0-2 fastball straight down the pipe that you stand there and watch go by.

The fact that I used a ball that a lot of people are dogging as being a dud and worthless is just a bonus.

24 balls in the pocket and carrying 19 of them in our house is quite an accomplishment....dead side kicks, legal flat gutters, 2 year old pins, 40 year old wood lanes, 24 month old finish and an oil pattern that favors the no rev, 12 MPH strokers leads me to say "Hey Doug, Nice Job!!!!!"

I'm sorry Jorge but even your sour puss attitude isn't going to dampen the fact that I threw the ball better that night than I have all season....
