Thank you Roy and Triggerman for your help with the Dynamo information.
Its amazing how asking a question about a ball and trying to keep it on topic only gets several responses and 200 hits of being read while a garbage post gets 67 responses and read over 2100 times.
What does this really say about the FOS?

Nothing really. You asked for information from anyone who's had real world experience using the Dynamo. It's still a relatively new offering, and there probably not a lot of them out there yet. Given the state of the economy, it's not surprising that bowlers (in general) are not jumping to get in line when a ball is first released.
You received some good input, so why are you complaining?
-
It says the FOS is very strong with thousands of members and growing everyday Lane#1 keeps producing great balls and may have the best range of balls of any company, they have a ball for every condition from the very dry lane to med to very oily all with the best weight blocks in the business. You can throw out all the 20% bull and get it straight these balls match up with my game and all the guys I bowl with.
Lane#1 is a class act as I've had to call them many times for help in prepping a cover or even a lay out of a ball. I can't believe you can call them and if they are busy they even call back. I was wowed when they did that, Chuck, Craig and Mark you can't beat these guys when it comes to help I've come to know them over the years and they always go the extra mile to help. This small company is hands down the best in customer service and you never hear these guys tooting their own horns.
Way to Lane#1 and thanks for being there for me so many times and keep making the best balls in the business. You have a Lane#1 fan for life and to the rest of the Lane#1 guys don't let trolls get to you if we don't respond they will go away quick believe me they feed of of us so lets take the food away and they will starve.
Thanks for listening to my little rant it for you guys the FOS.

absoluteisanidiot,
Don't know how long you've been around on this website, but I've been throwing Lane 1 bowling balls for a very long time. I matched up very well with them when they were with Brunswick. Not at all when they were with Columbia. Now that they are with 900 Global, I still have not matched up until the release of the Agent Orange with having two Buzzbombs that were a total waste to me. Mind you I said me, not to all. I'm going to continue throwing Lane 1 but can not guarantee that all of there bowling balls are going to work though I still like to receive and give information about past and current bowling balls.
Steven,
There are a lot more who already have the Dynamo then you might lead us to believe. The information I received was great and I showed my appreciation.
My point is, that you guys and girls are more willing to get involved in a garbage post (both or either read and respond) then to respond to posts that has a lot more to do with the true nature of the website. Its like a newspaper, readers want to read all the negative things that are going on in the world. If the newspaper had all good things to say about the world, they'd probably go out of business. My point wasn't even only about asking for information, but how many more read and replied or even just read a garbage post as to a genuine post about the bowling company they truly endorse.
I bet this post gets more hits then my original post.

I see what your saying Nicanor with the match up I didn't match up great with the Brunswick stuff because of the mid lane roll I was getting not saying all the brunswick poured stuff but some of it. I love the Uranium series and the Cherry Bomb.
-
Well the main problem with lack of response, for me anyway is I am sick and tired of filtering through all the BS poster's to get to the real answers. They may think they are cute or successful in pushing their own agendas, but in actuality it has pushed me away from several other brands, like brunswick, 900global, and now visionary.I do own a Dynamo and it is indeed a much stronger ball than even the Buzzbomb in the oil for me. I currently keep mine at 2000us wetsand (about 4000 abralon) and it is usually too much ball and I go to the polished Agent Orange,BB/R, or Dirty Bomb fairly quick into a set. If there is enough oil I always seem to stay with the Dynamo, because of the shape of the shot and the carry. I now only use Lane1, because of the great customer service and they match up well with me, and the FOS have always been very helpful when needed. Oh by the way I am seeing a lot more Lane1 at my house since I started using them.

Absoluteisanidiot,
The reason you didn't match up with Lane 1 and Bruswick is the reason I did. Thats why matching up is so important. For me the Agent Orange and the Cell remind me of the Lane 1 days with Brunswick. The Cell for me reads the mid lanes well and has a good move to the pocket but not flippy. Both the Cell and the first AO has the pin under the ring finger and mb kicked right. I know that means nothing unless you know the persons pap and bowling style but the point is I don't get the skid flip on the ball that has a tendancy to get me in trouble.
Thanks again for the response.

Hi Nicanor,
How are you? Long time no talk. I share your match-up problems with Lane 1. I had great results with a lot more of their balls when the balls were poured by Brunswick. I love the Pearl Carbide, BCB, Emerald, etc. but I did not match up with the Supernovas and the Buzzbomb. Although I had a couple of good games with them. However, the Agent Orange, from my observation of bowlers who have it, is a good ball with excellent carry. And I may still get one. I have not seen the Dynamo in my area to comment.
I am having so much fun with Storm's Virtual Gravity, Hyroad and now, the Second Dimension which is an excellent ball. I also had great results with the Cell and am planning to get a Roque Cell.
Re- Steven, he has not changed from when I had a few discussions with him in the past. He likes to express his "superiority" and will question the bowlers who express negative comments about Lane 1 and/or his views. He will say that the bowler is not good enough (average-wise or experience-wise) to comment or when you argue/discuss with him, he will say that you do not comprehend as if he is the only one who does. Also, he likes to argue with JustRico (formerly BrunsRico) who is a lot more knowledgeable than him and you can see him struggle with his arguments although we will give him credit about his good articulation of his views.
Good luck and hopefully, we can get together in the near future.
Take care.

Thank you Pakman2 and Rockbowler.
Rockbowler, is I'm not mistaken you use to throw several pearl Uraninums when they first came out. I don't mind the extra money for Lane 1 bowling balls and even with that, other bowling ball manufactuers are catching up price wise as well. I got the Agent Orange delivered for $154 and the Dynamo is only $159 delivered. Thats only about $10-20 dollars more expensive then most other major bowling ball prices and even less then some.
I just ordered the Rogue Cell to go with the other equipment I am using and I hope the Dynamo fits in. I have the THS and the Jolt solid to help me on the medium-light and the XXXL to help me on the dry. The Virtual Gravity, Cell, Rogue Cell, Dynamo should cover the med-heavy and the Agent Oranges and the Grand Illusions should cover the medium.
I hope to be in Fremont this summer. Send a little time with Pchee2, Doc Hollywood and others who are interested in bowling and /or having lunch.
Thanks again,

Nicanor,
I have to agree with pakman here....the reason you are not seeing more responses here is that we are sick and tired of having to explain ourselves over and over again.
Everybody on this site knows that I am one of Lane 1's firmest supporters but I will call garbage when I see it...whether it be a Lane 1 ball or one from some other company.
My own personal Dynamo is now in the hands of BR's very own 7-year-itch. I had trouble with the ball being inconsistent down the lane. In retrospect I see now that it was not the ball but rather a combination of my own personal issues (including being in too much of a hurry to get it drilled and misreading my span gauge...DUH!!!!I broke cardinal rule #1...measure twice, cut once). The ball flared a ton but was very twitchy on anything but our leftover house shot. These are the reasons I didn't post a full update to my initial impressions. I cannot make a full determination on the ball until I get another one to shake down properly.

Lane 1 Buzzsaw...The Official Power Tool Of Bowling
-
Thanks Doug. I've been readin other websites as well and some of the things I'm readin and hearing is that the Dynamo is either too squirrely or unpredictable to being a hook monster. After having so much success with the Agent Orange, I thought I'd try the Dynamo and see if it fits below or above my two AOs. I've heard from a good source the Dynamo doesn't hook as much as the AO and only me throwing it will tell if it hooks more or less and it will fit in my arseanl regarless as long as its predicable and has good carry. I'm hoping that Lane 1 gets back to having positive outcome for all thier bowling balls for a majority of bowlers like they were several years ago. Before I get slammed though, I know that there are bowlers that match up well with Lane 1 bowling balls now, even I match up with the AO, but the Buzzbomb era was a flop imho except for those who were good enough or lucky enough to match up.
I think those who match up well with Columbia match up fairly well with Lane 1 current lineup and those of us who didn't match up with Columbia, don't care much for the current line up. Thats my opinion and not a researched opinion, just my opinion.

Well Nic what I am seeing is that when Lane 1 was in it's "golden years" you still had the Diamond style core and it was wrapped in either Activator or PowerKoil 18....The Berry Series & The Uranium Series namely.
The advent of the Bomb core introduced a different twist on the theme...make the core taller and get more length in the core. Add the flip block and you get more flare and backend for those with less hand. However this increase in hook came at a price....more specific drillings were needed. The Cherry, Black Cherry and Super Carbide Bombs were some of the most devastating balls made.
The production switch to Columbia came about with a couple of really good balls but the Lane 1 stalwarts were confused because the SuperFlex based covers were not as strong and early as the Brunswick covers. This led to the old guard using the tried and true layouts and not getting the reactions we wanted. For example I drilled my Uranium HRG with the pin over the bridge like I tended to like and the ball went straight...and I mean straight!! Well maybe the whole HRG diamond core idea was not as well thought out as it could have been but who knows.
The Evoluition and Nebula continue to be 2 of my favorites in recent history The solid was iffy at best but the Evo and Neb are great!
Onto 900 Global....the original SuperNova...great ball once they got the bad batch off the shelves. The XP? awesome ball...but again, here we are again with the DIAMOND CORE...no flip blocks or anything. Teal THS? Love it or hate it.....old school core but with a different coverstock gives a different look and slightly different reaction. BuzzBomb? One of my favorites....BuzzBomb/R? didn't care for it but again, could have been drill pattern or lofty expectations that didn't surface until the Agent Orange came out. Chainsaw...good all-new release...core and cover match very well and it's not an attempt to redo something that has been done in the past. Dynamo? Again another new core design in an attempt to tweak the core to match up to the 900 G covers.
I feel it is just a matter of Phil and Richie getting comfortable with what each other brings to the table and breaking down what each one means when they say "I want this" or "I want that".
The more people I talk to and the more research I do, I feel the Dynamo will be a good solid benchmark ball for Lane 1 to base their line on. They just need to tweak up the covers and get tuned in to what kind of cover the core needs to maximize the reaction.
Richie won't quit until he gets it right...have no fear.

Doug,
One thing: Don't forget your XP has the Fusion core, not the Diamond. Doesn't seem to be much difference but there is one.
I've just now started figuring out the XP after a few months of ownership and ended up bowling my highest series of the half with it Tuesday. I basically have to treat it like I used to throw my old Storm X-Factor when its cover was still fresh. The 900Global covers are much more angular than the Brunswick covers were, and for that reason I've started to sprinkle in some Visionary, Brunswick and older gear in order to get a different look.
Nicanor, I'll tell you about the Dynamo -- when I get one. (g) I'm going to get a Chainsaw next month and that will probably be it for me until summer leagues get here, and I want to try the Agent Orange first.

The BB didn't match up at all for me, the AO is much better but in my opinion, the Dynamo will bring back all the ex Lane#1 bowlers. I have no regret selling my AO and getting a Dynamo.

I agree Jess...I loved my SuperNOva XP and regret selling it....somebody on here bought it actually <g>....had the pin under ring and cg out a bit with a 1-2" pin. Gave me a nice smooth reaction to the hole that would still kick the 10 without fail. Man I miss that ball :-(
I am going to try another Dynamo....from what I am hearing out and about it seems to be the second coming of the Black Raspberry but on steroids this time.

that is my Gods honest opinion doug, it is clean up front and retains a ton on the back end, carries the world my only problem is if i get to wide it is way too strong of a move and i will wrap tens all night long, if i chase the oil line and let it play there, it is incredible, 4k with ebo factory refinisher to a very nice gloss, and i can still throw this on out 41 ft med heavy pattern and not worry about it no over under, just a smooth hard charge off the dry
pin in ring cg stacked no weight hole, took fingers and thumb deep
works out to a 50 x 4.5" x 35 drilling or very very close to that (my fav)
I never see an over under or squirty look, it doesnt like short oil per say unless you go way deep, my last foray on short oil

I agree with a couple of you....I have had trouble getting my Dynamo dialed in. I think it will be fine, I just need to get the surface just right. What does worry me is that the original Buzzbomb did not agree with my game at all. I wonder if maybe its just the first gen of a ball line that maybe needs tweaking.
On the topic of 900 Global, I have had tremendous success with the Evolution and the Supernova lines. I love the twisted diamond core and would love to see it the THS coverstock.
I would like to see another plain diamond core, but I doubt we will for awhile....unless they do a Pearl Liberator....
Anyways, just wanted to chime in on this....
-
Great post, guys. And, love all the info, Doug! I couldn't agree with you more.
Personally, I switched the bulk of my arsenal to Lane #1 in late 2007 and haven't looked back since. Do I see a difference in reaction between the Brunswick poured SAWS to the Columbia and 900 Global SAWS? Absolutely! And I think that there are many Lane #1 supporters out there that still prefer the reactions of their old SAWS compared to the new ones.
My favorites are the Black Cherry Bomb (Modified RICO layout) and the Enriched Uranium (4 1/2" X 4 1/2" stacked - no X-hole). Of the new balls, I didn't mind the BuzzBOMB, but the Agent Orange is better AND the NEW Dynamo is an absolute BEAST!
I still have it in box condition and will likely have to put some polish on it because it just hooks too much!
As a pro shop owner / operator myself up here in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada,
I like trying out new equipment, not just new SAWS! Having said that, I really think that Richie and Lane #1 are heading in the right direction in their relationship with Phil Cardinale and 900 Global. The coverstocks are getting better and I think the Hurricane core will be a winner. Can't wait to see it in a pearl version......wow, that should be a backend monster!
To close, I have a question to Doug Sterner and Triggerman and anyone else who may be able to respond to this one......
In the 900 Global lineup of coverstocks, which are the ones that were used on the recent Lane #1 balls? Richie from Lane #1 responded to me a while back on a few of them, but I'd like to fill in the few gaps that I have.
G-Force Solid - Detonator, which was the Columbia M80
EVO, Nebula, Supernova Solid, Teal THS and BuzzBOMB/R - Bleeder, which is the
the tried and true, Superflex cover
Supernova XP - Explosion Pearl (XP), which I understand was Richie's own
formulation with 900 Global
Liberator - BUD Urethane, does this mean this is the same formulation as was
used on the original Columbia Black U-Dot?
BuzzBOMB & Agent Orange - Pure Grip....what's this in the 900 Global "S" rating?
Chainsaw - Skid / Hook.................what's this in the 900 Global "S" rating?
Dynamo - Category 5....................what's this in the 900 Global "S" rating?
Thanks a bunch in advance, guys! Keep up the great work.
Regards,
George

Well George, I'll take a stab at it....
Chainsaw....I am guessing it's the solid cover from the Creature solid (S30)
BuzzBomb...I think it's very close the cover on the original Break (S70).
Agent Orange....can't help you here....IMO it's stronger than any Pearl 900 G is using
Dynamo....based on the rate of oil absorption I saw on mine I'd be willing to bet it's a version of Phil's soaker.

I wish we could find out if the Dynamo is a soaker, because I am a nut for cleaning and keeping fresh surface on my equipment, and I was told that you really do not want to do this for about 30 to 50 games with the soaker covers because they will get even better after they are "primed a little"

Patrick
-
After throwing this ball a while I might tend to agree with you Pakman. It seems to be be a soaker coverstock.

Nicanor (Ten On The Deck)

here is my take
I have some 80 games plus on mine, I polished it out of box, my cleaning is wipe the ball down before each throw with a microfiber towel, that is it, ball is as strong or stronger today as when i first punched it up, I have seen no loss of reaction, no squirty on the backend, just a strong rolling angular ball

I agree with Triggerman.....my 16 lb Dynamo is still in box condition and I always wipe the ball after every shot with a micro fibre towel. It really works well.
I have a 15 lb Dynamo on the way as well which I will polish @ 4000 Abralon.
To be honest, the Dynamo is one of the best oil balls I have ever used. The Category 5 coverstock is very very aggressive......not sure what it is in the 900 Global lineup of covers, but I'm assuming it has to be at least a version of their S75 cover.
