I always read this forum and I just cannot stand that people always insult lane 1 users as a fool, I am a new user of Lane 1 product for 3 months,
I don't under stand that kind of people always attack someone's favourite, I spend my money for my fun, so, what wrong with your guys ? if you are really thats good, you don't need to use high-end balls. just use your 50 bucks to buy cheap stuffs (USA open 2001 is a good example), why someone buy benz but someone buy prosche ? different approach for different expectation, right ?
In fact, the reason why I use lane 1 ball is :- I really can read the ball clearly, I don't like MC2's ..etc stuff, I like symmetric core. sometime I feel that MC'2 is really can hook but the hitting/carry power is sometime what I don't expect, especially on spotty/carrydown situation, but when I use Lane 1, I can read the no man zone on this kind of lane easily and I can have my adjustment quite quick, this kind of confident help me to battle another high-end ball using like storm and ebonite, sometime the mc2/mb make the ball too unpreditable on bad oil conidtion lane.
Also, the coverstock of the Lane 1 ball is quite imporatant as all ball in brunswick ! I have experience that my pro-shop operator help me to resulface my Cherry bomb without my asking, finally he kill my ball with so shiny surface (may be 2000 grits), who make this just like a house ball with no hook (I can see the ball is really spinning very quick but just skid !). the 2nd example is I found someone have brought the Carbide by high pay and he drill the ball with his often go pro-shop which don't sell lane1 product, I saw the ball so dead and see they drill the ball with 3 X 2 with a deep small weight hole
are they going to tweak down the core and take the weight out ? and the pin distance is 3. so may aggressive drilling they can apply.and the pro-shop operators just told him not to buy lane 1 ball again and just ball their storm ball next time, how they bias the ball ! if I want this kind of steady play, I don't need lane 1.but I just don't know why some pro-shop operator like to drill their selling ball in some agressive way but drill some other they don't selling ball in bad way, their is a lot of thing a pro-shop operator can cheat you, even the static weight, pitch and let you kill your ball.
So, I think the point is not just you need to throw a lane1 but also you need a drill that should match your style (you should have good understanding on drilling symmetrics core ball). then if lane 1 really cannot match your style, just ignore it and go ahead with yours favourite, it is very simple to understand as someone like chinese food but someone like western but the aims is help you out of hungry.
