Raspberry Buzzsaw
« on: March 16, 2009, 04:13:11 PM »
Okay Lane #1 fanatics, I have a line on a used Raspberry Buzzsaw, but I saw no reviews up on this site.  Is this one of the coveted older balls?  Looking on the company web site, I see it has the Powercoil 18 reactive urethane coverstock and it's made for heavy oil.

Please advise.

if it's the Black Rasberry then yeah it's for heavy oil but if it's the Pink Rasberry it won't work on the heavy stuff. It's a good medium ball. Both balls have Powercoil 18 a very good coverstock. I score big with that cover. Used to have a Black Rasberry myself.

thats what i didnt understand about the two balls, or the other C/2 stuff, if they are all powerkoil 18, why does the black hook more than the pink?  and im just at a loss for what the blueberry does???? I understand that the Cherry is a pearl as well as the SD (different core). How bout the Black C?

These balls were all the same spec wise but it has been proven that different color dyes in the covers have some play in the reactions in the balls.

The Blueberry came polished
The Black Raspberry came sanded
The Pink Raspberry came sheen. In the middle basically..

They all had the same C2 core and Powercoil 18..

The Black Raspberry always seems to handle a little more oil better.
The Pink was the most versatile and the Blueberry was the C2 that was easiest to get down the lane. This with all things being equal. Surface grit and lane conditions..

The Black/C was basically a solid version of the Silver Diamond...

Single centered nugget inside the diamond core..

Very good ball. More length and sharper off the break point than the C2's

Hoep this helps....

beans your the master, thanks for the clarification.

Makes sense now, and very good info in that PK18 thread too.  Interesting how there must be a slight formulation change in order to change the color.
