Thinking of getting a XXXL

I have problems with dry lanes, and currently do not own a ball for them. When I say dry, I mean dry, not light oil. I am pretty close to buying a XXXL because not only can I use it for my 10 pin, but I can also use it on the dry lanes. If I understand correctly, it has the hitting power of a reactive ball, but the weakness of plastic ball. Now obviously I know it'll be a little stronger than a plastic ball due to the core, but figured it doesn't matter since I only use plastic for my 10 pin. Does this seem like a good idea?

that is exactly what the ball is made for.

Be sure to drill the ball strong even though it is for dry lanes.

Like Beans said, it's the perfect ball for what you want.  I have a picture of mine in my profile.  I don't know how much the drilling makes on this ball, but I like mine a lot.  It still goes plenty straight when you take some hand out of it, but knows what to do when you rev it up and find the dry boards.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about it taking off, seeing as I don't have a high rev rate. Only problem is trying to find one used.

the ball is more than a "normal" plastic

People pay more for reactive but do not know the worth of that ball when it comes to real dry lanes and squeaky clean backends.

I have one drilled label wit hthe cg in a zero weight position (no sideweight and very few fingerweight) with the pin in a strong position and the ball goes smooth on the drier outside boards of our heavy (!!) THS but skids all the way through the oil towards the tenpin... miss right... it will hand on on board 1 and still get the tenpin

Get one. You will not regret it.

I am replacing my black one but I guess it would be nonsense shiüpping my bölack to the US....

I have seen many Tropicals here and they are not for dry! They re strong enough to be considered as a med ball... but maybe the dry and med here is drier and more med than yours.... have heard often that the European patterns are drier in first place overall/ in general

Well, on Fridays I bowl in a 3rd shift league and when I bowl JAT on Sundays, the lanes get very dry by the 6th or 7th game.

I really like rubber for dry....I've compared the XXXL to rubber and on the pavement I occasionally see...the XXXL grabs earlier.

Ask the house if they mind if you take an old rubber ball off the shelf and drill to your specs.

I've heard that it's not recommended to plug a plastic ball because it can crack. I was only planning on plugging the thumb, would this be a problem?

I have a XXXL for these exact conditions, I drilled it with a label drill. This ball is smooth with movement and carry. It has bailed me out of the late squad desert conditions.

Don't hesitate it might be the best ball I own.Shot 738 in league last night with mine.When everybody else was in deep.I was playing at 7&8 all night Mine is drilled pin under ring mb in val and hits like a tank.Also has weight hole from center of grip through cg out to val.
