I have always raved about Lane 1, and I will add that their product would and is worth the money not only for their performance, BUT their service. They have treated me like a friend and family member, as if they have known me for years, and now my wife has told me of their friendliness toward her. She is getting me a Lane 1 6 ball roller and two ball tote for Christmas, and Chuck even contacted her personally. She was so amazed at one of the tope persons called her. NOW, can anyone tell me any other company where someone of the position of a Chuck or Richie would take that kind of personal attention? I would dare say NO!! I do not mean that you can't find some company where YOU may be able to speak with a VP or big wig, BUT at Lane 1, they actually will stop and shoot the breeze and talk of stuff other than bowling products.

I am amazed at their personal touch, even their receptionists know me, and when I call even know my name before I tell them. There is no company where I could call 3 times in one day, that would not try to "take a message" to say that you are calling too much. I also like it that when you leave a message, whoever it is meant for ACTUALLY calls you back.

You see, the debate of "why so expensive" (and not really as much more as is implied), or "are they really worth the $$$", is easily answered not only by trying their product for yourself, BUT experiencing the "personal family treatment" that you will receive. I can honestly say that even if my scores dropped, I would not feel it so bad because of the feeling I get from dealing with people Like Richie, Chuck, and ALL of the staff at Lane 1. The Mastercard commercial comes to mind where they put a price tag on things, and then they get to the "priceless" one; Lane 1 bowling ball - $$$.$$, Lane 1 shirt - $$.$$, Lane 1 2 ball tote - $$.$$; Lane 1 service and personal treatment - PRICELESS!!!! Thanks Richie and Chuck, and ALL the staff, and I would be remiss if I did not thank Doug Sterner for introducing me to not only such a wonderful product, BUT the best staff a bowler could be associated with.

I can attest to this as well. I have talked to Craig Moore via phone quite a few times, and most of the time it's him calling me. Craig, and the entire staff, are VERY personable, and will do anything they can to help out.

I talk to Richie once in a while the the coversation is treffic and not always about bowling.

Not to go over many other post about Lane 1 pricing, but I got the Solid Coblt for 167 shipped, 32 dollars to have it drilled for a total of $199. For most high end bowling balls like the Storm Domination and other comapnies high end bowling balls, the cost is not that far off. Now if we bring in the mid priced bowling balls, thats apples and oranges. wheter or not is a better product is up to the individual bowler. Lane 1 does not have an oiler I like, not even the Super carbide Bomb so except for the XXXcel and my 14 LB rubber spare ball, I throw all Lane 1. Have for years. Tried Storm (th company I also really like) Ebonite that has some great bowling balls. But I didnot match up well with Columbia/Track and that is a problem for me knowing that Lane 1 bowling balls are now made by Columbia with ther coverstock or combination of coverstocks. Don't want a skid flip ball the the HRG but will wait for something different to purchase that is more up my game to see if I can continue or want to continue throwing Lane 1.

Love the Lane 1 company and all the staff. I truly hope things work out at Columbia.

We all know I am a Lane 1 guy here and I'll throw in my 2 cents as well.

Lane 1 has the most friendly and best customer service I have seen as a pro shop operator....

I sold $20,000 in Lane 1 balls last year and also $18,000 in Storm product.

Did I even get a Christmas card from Storm? Nope...

Did I get one from Lane 1? Yes I did...I even got a birthday wish from the guys up in Syracuse.

I had a couple of warranty issues come up last year...it took 5 phone calls to get the One replaced by Ebonite despite there being no inserts or slugs in the ball and the ring finger was even drilled nearly 2" from the pin. MoRich took several calls to get the Sahara replaced that cracked. The Enriched Uranium my one customer had an issue with was handled in 24 hours with one phone call. They replaced the ball and then had me send the old one back...the other companies were just the reverse...send it back and then we'll send you a replacement.

Lane 1 is tops in my book and will stay there until they prove otherwise.

I'm not a Lane #1 guy but I believe you could say the same thing about companies like Visionary and LaneMasters/Legends....because I have interaction with both and received the same personal service.

It's more the smaller the more they need/want to service their customers. No more no less.

They are the way they are NOT because they feel the NEED to go the extra mile because of pricing, BUT because that is who they ARE!!! Regardless of price, I would expect ALL companies to be great at customer service, yet I have dealt with some, and they give off the air that they have more improtant things to do then take time for me. Just as Nic said, I too have called and just talked, and not always bowling.

What a great thing to not only have the customer service, BUT the performance of their product is as it says. I would match my Saws up against any other product, and their performance would outshine them all. Nice to know that if I travel through Syracuse, I can do lunch with Chuck or Richie, and I do not need to be a VIP or an appointment. There are companies out there that are good, BUT Lane 1 is tooth and blade above them, or to coin an even better phrase, they are a "cut" above.

A compan should have top notch service REGARDLESS of the price charged, after all if you want to keep customers (regardless of product performance or pricing), you need to be great at customer service. The point is, they are a personable company because that is what they set out to be, and would be REGARDLESS of their price.

You asked if I would pay a high price if the service was not there; well I ask you would you pay ANY price if service was not there? You see, price should not dictate taking the personal touch with a customer.

You can always find examples of "deals" whereby Lane#1 are "about" the same price as other equipment.

But ON AVERAGE they are about 20% higher than "most" other competitors high end equipment.

IF you believe they fit your game and are willing to spend your money on them, then more power to you.

Point being, that any company can have testimonials on great customer service. I've seen this post in just about every manufactures forum, it's just not that unusual. However, as in any type of business, if you make a claim that you are best at what you do, despite price or competition, you'd better back it up.

I'd have been more surprised if they DIDN'T go the extra mile for you seeing how they are charging a premium price for their product.

actaully in real life terms the price is more like 12% different, and those deals everyone chimes in about are everywhere, posted price and selling price is vastly different in this market

Where does one find a Lane #1 ball for $300? I clicked on the link you offered and unless they are charging $125-150 for drilling, I don't see how it's possible.
I had a problem with a DynoThane Anomaly drilled for oil. I even emailed DT pix and received absolutely no satisfaction. I will never buy another of their balls, ever.
I had a problem with my first Lane #1 ball, and Enriched. I thought it was drilled wrong and because I live an hour away, I took it there. All I wanted to know was, was the CG marked in the wrong place as stated by the guy that drilled it. They said it was off ever so slightly. They asked me a few questions about where I bowled, the conditions, etc and they gave me a new ball. I did not go there for that and did not want a new ball; I wanted the one I had. They wanted me to be satisfied with Lane #1. I walked out with a new ball and a TON of respect for how those guys treat their customer. I am on ball #4 now and don't see that changing, probably not even for $300 that Storm alludes to.

I can buy just about any Lane #1 ball for half that! Even the famed Hybrid Megatons! If I could find someone to pay $300 each, I would sell my entire arsenal and replace it with brand new lane #1 balls and nearly double my investment. Sounds to me like you either got a hardcore reaming, or you are just talking out your backside.

unfortunately there are shops out there still stuck in the early to mid 90's pricing scheme that was once prevaliant, ie 225 for big b stuff, 300 for quantums and 300 for lane 1. this is nto the case anymore but unfortunately there are shops out there that are doing this. then there are shops lke me that choose to work the numbers and can put a person in a lane 1 ball for the prices comparable to most top line stuff(discounted online retailers aside)

Trigger can do that, believe me, as I just bought an Enriched Uranium from him a little over a week ago. Great guy...Great price...Great service. He went out of his way to insure this ball would perfectly match up to me including the drilling layout and it did. Give him a try. You won't be sorry.
