Post by: zeusjr on March 05, 2011, 11:33:47 PM
Been feeling it coming the last few weeks... I've had 3 or 4 279s... well Wednesday night I finally got it done.

That's my 3rd with the TimeBomb and 6th overall..

 Good rollin Zeus. Man, how do u have that ball layed out? I have not been able to score well with mines @ all. I've changed surfaces (havevn't tried everything, but I've done quite a few), and Mr. Pinel even suggested I move the weight hole, which did give it a little more move, but my ball does not react in the fashion I had invisioned. Can u post a pic of your layout and surface prep? When do you use it most and what kind of lanes you bowling on? My older lane < stuff rolls better than my Time Bomb and it is not nearly as unique enough of a roll for me to pick up and take to the lanes and throw regularly. Labors way too much on the backend for me, even in one of my leagues that has nice clean backends to score on. Starting to think I had this ball layed out wrong for my game.

What do you think this ball should do?  It just labors way too much on the backend for me....it moves sometimes, but not a very strong move at all for me.  I'm not a super rever or anything, but I can get some revs on the ball.  I prefer down and in, but most of my equipment makes me play in some.  I'm just not happy with the reaction this ball gives me, and prefer not to redrill it.  Honestly, my Chainsaw moves more than this ball.  It doesn't give me the look I want.  Well not what I have seen others do with the ball.

Absolut, seems like the ball layout is too exotic and the ball is probably burning up. Some things are best kept simple. Pin should probably be closer to the ring finger or bridge, depending on your PAP. CG probably a touch closer also. Weight hole is best used in conjunction with the static weights. Depending on the top and side will determine how far away the hole is from the center of your grip. Lower top needs the balance hole farther away, up to 10".

I know you don't want to plug the ball, but that's probably the best option. Moving the balance hole will probably give you a better reation also, but it still may not be perfect, due to the layout. You can try moving the balance hole 10" straight across from the center of your grip and down 1" from there. Drill a hole 2 1/2" deep back to 1/2 positive side. Hole size will need to be figured out depending on how much side weight is in the ball after plugging the hole. =:^D

Thanks for the info T-God. I was kinda thinking that in order for me to get a desired reaction, that the ball was going to have to be redrilled...man I would hate to do that though...

@Zeusjr...my PAP was measured @ 4 3/4 across, 5/8 up; 19-21 deg tilt
