Todays sermon: The versitlity of the buzzbomb
« on: February 19, 2008, 11:32:24 PM »
Once again I want to brag on the versitlity of the Buzzbomb.  On my intial test of the ball in box it was a a flat out beast on a 42 ft pattern, started great in the mids and had the most continuation on the back I have seen in a  long time.  Not satisfied with that, I took it in and hit if for pretty much a minute per side with ebo powerhouse cleaner and polish, brought the surface up to roughly 1500, the ball really took a nice shine to it and looked even better on the lanes, the polished version became a true league ball on slightly longer oil (by longer I mean 39+ ft) still able to swing boards with it, but able to play a lot of different lines if needed.  as the ball tracked up it got stronger in the mids but for my tastes too early.  so back to the spinner, wet sanded to 1500 then hit hard with the ebo cleaner/polish.  the ball was a true marble now.  As the lane man was having trouble with the machine on our pair I though crap this ball wont work (he had to oil one lane 3Xs and the other 2X's) so I moved way right with my new marble right foot on 12, crossing 10 at the arrows to about 7 at the break, throwing 17.5-18.0 mph with my normal release shot was money (I wasnt but the shot and ball movement was) flush the back 6. as there were 4-5 of us around the same line, I found myself moving my feet about 1/2 to 1 board every other frame to stay in the pocket, but the ball handled it.  I ended the night with right foot on 22 crossing 15 at the arrow to about the 7 at the break.  ball looked great and was a blast to throw.  I dont normally play that portion of the lane as I typically start with feet at least 5 boards left of center and ball crossing 15.  I think a guy could have 2 of these drilled similar with different surfaces and hit med to heavy with ease, throw in a plastic ball and you could hit just about everything.  We had three buzzbombs on the rack, all three had some degree of polish, although mine was the only one brought up to 1500 wet sand, the others were just brought up with the ebo cleaner/polish, three distinct styles with three different lines, all looked good.  couple of cells in the league and the BB just flat out destroys the pins, dont get me wrong the cell looked awesome but really seemed to labor to carry the rack

buzzbomb for those of you who doubt its versitlity should take a look at it, even the no handers (low rev guys) this ball will come back, the low rev guys that dont normally play 3rd 4th arrow, there is plenty of oil in most house shots there and this ball will drift out and once it sniffs dry it moves.  All I can say is dont be afraid to play a part of the lane you dont normally play cause this ball will do it, does it burn off some?  sure but there is so much energy generated by that core, it doesnt matter

It certainly is versitile, I watched 2 lefties on a house shot that I thought would be too light for the ball. It ripped for both of them, funny part is one was ripping the cover off it from the middle to 5 and back, the other was right in the track fluffing it at about 13-14mph.  I couldn't believe that it worked for both of them so well.  The fluffer had a tougher time because he was more suseptible to the over-reaction of the dry( the ball wasn't jerking off the dry or anything it was just the difference of the oil line and getting to the dry too quickly). It was pretty interesting to watch, and from the other side of the lane I got to watch a nice comparison of the Cell Vs The Agent series.  Thats another topic all together though.

Oh Oh...I just heard someone mention my name.

Trigger isn't going to give up until he gets one of these balls in my hands and let me tell you, it is getting scary as it is getting closer and closer to "mission accomplished".

LOL Brick, was wondering if you heard the message pastor trigg was conveying.  Actually I find the ball quite versitle, and I think you could get in deeper then you can with either of the lane #1 balls you currently have and it will still recover.  Whether you get one or not, I am more then happy that we were able to put you into two peices that seem to fit your game

Well Trigger, tomorrow I will be 71 years old. What would be nicer than a "rock bottom deal" on a BB...lol

Going to have to do something as I just sold my EU and Solid Cobalt Bomb...Kept the XXXL. Parted with the EU because my new Twisted Fury does what it did and much more. Sold the Solid Cobalt too, but not sure why I did as I loved that ball, but since The Twisted covers a bigger area than the EU did, I had stopped using the Solid Cobalt, so decided to sell it while it is in excellent shape.

This is definitely a ball for the no handers. They'll be able to play inside lines like they've never been able to play them before..!! =:^D
