True manufacturer of Lane #1
« on: February 18, 2005, 11:41:30 AM »
I was told from someone that sells Lane #1 balls wholesale that the balls are made by Brunswick.  I was told that the Radioactive 18 coverstock is the activator coverstock. This may very well be true. Not sure.

uh, actually it is.  I don't really keep tabs on who makes what ball. Just new to the whole thing.

Yeah, it's been out for a while that the B makes the covers for Lane 1 and Morich.  But who's complaining, they are some of the best coverstocks out there!

PS-  I think the first hint that they used B's stuff, was when they mentioned that some of the covers are powerkoil18, Brunswick's most famous coverstock until activator.

I posted a review on the Hybrid Dirty Bomb and believe that this ball is not typical of most "reactive" bowling balls--and that what Lane #1 advertises is true so far.  What people are trying to find is a ball that "reacts" over a longer period of time and this what this ball does so far according to durability.

That's because it has pk18, a great reacting cover, mixed with activator, the most durable and smooth reacting.  What a combo.

sniffer, RadioActive is the Activator coverstock. RadioActive 18 is a mixture of Activator and PowerKoil 18. =:^D

Brunswick actually makes the cores for Lane 1 also, as well as providing the coverstocks, that's why they cost more than everything else

I tell you what fellas--Go get the Hybrid Dirty Bomb.  If you want durability and that reaction that everyone wants buy this ball.

Uh, no.  If that was the case, then Insite's almighty ball should be just as expensive.  It's Lane 1 itself that sets its prices.  Probably has something to do with their patent on the core, not because another company pours the ball for them.

Actually it's kind of weird what happened to that ball. My friends and I bowled on a private 2 lane bowling alley and I hand applied the conditioner to the lane.  I put down probably 10 times the normal amount, not knowing what I was doing. So I bowled with U. Buzzsaw and f-ed up the coverstock.
--When I first started with this ball it was very explosive. Drilled label at 1:30. Much more explosive than the H. Dirty Bomb.

Brunswick seems to manufacture a lot of ball products. Does anyone remember the over priced Quantums?

The Quantum's sold for a higher price than most balls, but again, so does Lane 1 balls, with the difference between the two as far as my own personal experience with both is that the Quantums were a much better ball for the money than the Lane 1 balls........Note---I said my own personal experience with both lines.
