REPEAT: In case you haven't seen this:
« on: January 20, 2004, 06:00:34 PM »
Within an article of BOWLERS JOURNAL the YEAR ROUND ISSUE ..MIKE RIGGINS reviewed the GOLDEN NUGGET. One of the comments follows .. I had originally posted this in the MISCELLANEOUS-BOWLING RELATED posting and it was suggested I post it here ..
================================================================
PERFORMANCE/PRICE: The Golden Nugget is an expensive high performance ball with great back end and hitting power. the question brought to us is whether or not the retail is worth the $50 difference above similar equipment. The Golden Nugget delivers great performance, but conversations with many shop operators focus on how Lane #1's top end equipment would garner more market share with pricing in line with other premium balls.

========================================================================

Guess we heard this quite a bit from BR members. I wonder if all those BUZZHEADS that were making a scene are going to write into the magazine to tell them that they, and the SHOP OPERATORS should mind their own business and let them spend their money as they want too. Here's their opportunity to tell some DUMB PEOPLE OFF!
======================================================================
Please excuse the duplication!

Just a thought, how many people went out to buy a Helix or Double Helix for $300.00 when they came out numerous years ago? A lot because they WANTED to, not because the ball was the next big thing (and we all know it wasn't.) It's called freedom of choice. If I want to spend $10,000 on a Rolex to tell me it's time to go bowling rather than a $50.00 Timex, I'm the the one who makes the choice, not anyone else!

Just got back from BOWLING .. just a few notes .. I won't bore you!:
BADSHOT: .. You say people on THIS SITE .. the posting is NOT FROM THIS SITE but from Bowlers Journal International .. they are talking about PRICE .. maybe you missed that point .. just thought I'd remind you;

T-GOD I thought this answered your question ..

T GOD .. go back over ALL my posts and you will NEVER see any comments where I say THE LANE 1 BALLS ARE NG .. my comments are always .. THEY ARE TOO EXPENSIVE.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

GOLFNUTFL: You ask WHO CARES .. might I remind you the article was written for the BJI .. someone MUST BE QUESTIONING THE PRICE .. I would imagine this means SOMEONE CARES .. perhaps not YOU!..

Honestly .. if you read between the lines at the BJI comments .. I COULD CONCLUDE that LANE 1 PURCHASES ARE FOOLISH AT THE AMOUNT THEY ARE CHARGING! Please don't misquote what I've said!

Joe,
You're not new here. Honestly, don't you think this topic has been beaten to death? I always respect your opinion BUT how many times must this SAME issue be debated? It seems indefinite to me, and apparently others. THERE IS NO RESOLUTION, THERE ARE NO NEW ANSWERS FOR THIS ISSUE. I think every angle, every theory (conspiracy or not), every speculation that could be offered for discussion has ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN.

So, you buy Lane #1 balls. You may even like them. But you think that they are too expensive. OK.....so what?

So now a reviewer from BJ poses the question, are they worth it? They are to those who like them, they're not to those who either don't like them or won't pay a premium to use them, for whatever reason. There, I've answered the question from BJ. My question for you is WHY do you kick this particular hornet's nest when you know the ultimate redundancy that will result? There can be no meeting of the minds on this issue as WAY TOO MANY similar topics have discovered.

Hope you bowled well tonight Joe. (with or without your Buzzsaws )

GOLFNUTFL .. I didn't bowl BAD .. not the best but the team split the points .. that was good enough .. I didn't use the L1 balls .. they might have helped but I left them home feeling the conditions WOULD NOT be right .. but I GUESSED WRONG ANY WAY!

I was aked to close this topic .. I've never done that before but I respect the requestor so I'm going to try and do it .. thanks for all the comments .. the column was mostly to show that maybe there is some question on cost being raised by others .. Thanks again!
