regarding the best players playing the best balls, i have only one rebuttal:
WALTER RAY WILLIAMSarguable the greatest bowler ever, he priced himself out of a ball contract with any company, and bids himself out when he gets on tv to whichever ball company is willing to pay the most.
so don't tell me pba bowlers go with the best equipment. they definitely go with the money, because the tournaments themselves cannot provide a decent living for 90% of the pba bowlers.
your references to "contract jumping" go back to the day when pro bowlers couldn't make a good living no matter how much they won or how much the manufacturers paid.
at any rate, my initial comment was made in jest, and so we could have some fun with the forums. when i started back into bowling around 3 years ago, i was very enamored with all of the new toys, and heaven knows i bought more than my fair share.
i've pretty much settled on lane #1, hammer, columbia and occasionally track as my favorite ball companies. i haven't seen any amf or dynothane balls that i liked, and i've seen a few ebonites, storms and brunswick products that looked pretty good. i'd love to try visionary and morich balls. haven't really looked at any other companies.
i am at a bit of a loss to understand how anyone could say a blueberry, emerald pearl and a carbide react about the same. i personally think that's a stretch, but if that's your opinion i won't argue.
at any rate, i was posting a "ha-ha", and i enjoy the tongue in cheek debate.
