Title: Tsunami....

I am looking for a benchmark ball i can use to read the lanes and have a nice smooth roll to it and my pro shop guy had suggested a tsunami...was just curious if it would actually fit the bill

You just described exactly what the Tsunami will do.  This is easily the best ball I have ever owned; use it on anything from light oil, spotty breakdown, severe wet/dry, all the way up to medium-heavy oil and you will love it.  I find it works best if there is dry to be found SOMEwhere on the lane.  It will skate in heavy oil, but if you at least have a good clean backend, or anywhere along the lane to bounce off dry, get ready for some big-boy scores!
