224-244-226 (694)
Here's what's significant about this:
1) I haven't bowled 700 since moving to this house,
2) I haven't had a pure 600 this year (all 3 games over 200),
3) This was on my second-worst pair in the house,
4) For 15 games with the Tsu in this league, I'm averaging about 219 (regular average: around 190, and I'd fallen from there to 186 before picking this ball up). Also, I averaged about 195 with it at my recent state tournament.
5) Game two, I could have punched out for 279 but left the 4-7-10 on the first ball going in. The ball was high by a hair and it was the only high hit I didn't carry all night. Game three, I could have had my 700 had I doubled, but went strike, 2-10 on the only light hit I didn't carry.
I was carrying light hits, off hits, high hits, everything. I left one 10 pin, a ringer to lead off the third game, and I missed it. Those two splits plus a 4-9 in the first game and the missed 10 were the only missed spares of the night.
I had previously thought the MoRich Awesome Finish I'd drilled up earlier in the year was the best league ball I've thrown, but I was wrong. The Tsunami is it. And the Tsu worked at our state tournament when the AF would not.
I also got a chance to test out two new Lane #1 balls I'd procured recently during practice before league. Initial impressions:
G-Force Evolution: Very similar overall hook to the Tsu but it goes about it a different way. Not surprising, as it is a pearl. It is more angular and cleaner through the heads. This will be a good step down for me on nights when I can't adjust enough with the Tsunami. Both my Tsu and my Evo are drilled identically (label on the drill sheet, and the balls have almost identical specs, which puts the pin over the ring at about 1:00, CG on the middle side of the palm and MB marker in the track).
Dirty Bomb: Did not like this one. SprayNpray, you mentioned something about people who liked the Buzzsaw and WAS cores not liking the bomb cores -- I think you're onto something. I got a terrible read with this ball (it's drilled stacked), it would not finish and it was jumpy in the heads. I'll spend some more time with it but initial results were not favorable.
However, the Tsu is in the bag permanently.
