One of the houses in town has an annual tournament where they take the top ten averages for the year and have round robin match play, total pins (plus bonus pins) wins. There's no entry fee, and first is $400 (2nd is $200, 3rd is $150, and 4th is $100, etc, down to 10th which is $20). The Tsunami was a little stronger than I thought it'd be at this house, but a little adjustment and I was in the hole nearly all day. I led or was a close 2nd for the first 5 games until I ran into a guy who just tore it up for 6 games. I was +302 after 5, and games 3-5 for him were 806, so he was right up on me. Shot 269 to my 197 . . Left 2 10's, 2 9's, and 2 4's, so I wasn't off by much, but keeping close would have been nice. He stayed on fire, and I won every match until the final one before the position round. We were both pretty far out there, but both shot 160's, lol. Couple bad shots, couple where the ball jumped, and that was that. I was 120 behind him going into the position round, so I wasn't playing for first, but I'd let 3rd and 4th up on me, I was only 10 ahead of 3rd and 13 ahead of 4th.
The guy in third goes 9/, 7 bagger. I went front 3, 9/, 5 bagger. He left two pins on his shot in the 9th and then opened in the 10th, so I was safe (we both had won our matches by then). Made up 70 pins on the guy in first to make it look better, but just had too many mistakes during the day to catch up. Ended up at +484 for 10 games. Haven't been bowling as often, so my hand shrunk, and I was swimming a little in my grips. Kinda fixed it, but had to just deal with it most of the day. Still, the guy that won earned it, he bowled incredibly. It's pretty nice to know I can compete with the big names in town though, especially when I was having release problems most of the day, lol. Oh, and did I mention I have another Tsunami on the way?
