Savoia's ball reaction
« on: January 17, 2007, 03:33:39 AM »
Ok, not gonna bash the guy for once.  I just seriously want to know how he gets stuff to roll back up.  If I bail out of a ball and throw it like that, it's a washout or a serious rollout.  His stuff rolls back up . . is it because there's a massive amount of oil up front where he bowls at, or is it drillings?  I'd love to have my bad shots react like that.

this wouldnt be the first time lane #1 has done some marketing hijinx.

i remember the Hybrid Dirty Bomb video, showed a layout, then in the low motion video, the layout on the ball spinning was completely different.

MegaMav: You must have the eyes of an eagle. I just watched that video again and I found it impossible to pick up the drill pattern following the roll of the ball. It wasn't even close. I think you've really gone out on a limb here. You should be on more steady ground before accusing anyone of a "marketing hijinx".

Watch the slow motion portion, and compare it to the layout shown.

Mav . . I might have to agree with Steven on the layout.  I watched the slow motion part closely, and it appears to be the same layout.  The cg was close to axis, like it should have been, and the pin appeared to be under the ring finger.  However, if you're seeing a different layout, what's it look like to you?  I might not be watching close enough.

I think what he's seeing is the different ball roll when this guy moves in deep.  He doesn't use his thumb when playing deep which is causing a completely different roll on the ball.
