Uranium Solid again
« on: June 27, 2005, 02:07:53 AM »
A friend of mine got interested in Lane #1 products
after watching me throwing my Uranium Solid. He likes
the way the ball enters the pocket and smashing the pins.
I am looking for suggestions here.
My friend's bowling style:

  High speed
  Medium to high revs
  Medium to low axis rotation
High tracker, with track almost near the holes

I planned to get him a Uranium Solid for him since he wants
a heavy oil ball. With regards to his bowling style,

Is pin-in or pin out ball and which drilling layout
will be suitable for him ? Please respond members of the
  F.O.S.

The Uranium solid will be fine as long as an appropriate drill is used. I track very high myself but a 4x4 layout on mine put the track plenty far from the holes so it was not a problem.

What I have found though is that top weight plays a big role in the Uranium series balls. My pearl had like 4.4 top with a 4" pin and it tracked VERY close to the holes (5-1/2 x 3-1/2 drilling) but the 4x4 solid had no problems ( 3.5 top and a 3" pin).

For your friend I'd suggest an aggressive pin position (3-1/2 to 4") with the pin abover the ring to PAP line and the cg kicked out like 2 to 2-1/2" off his PAP and don't be afraid to give it some surface. This drill will start earlier to help combat his speed but have a smoother transition which will help counteract the snappiness due to his revs.

Need more info? Let me know!

PS for trigger....SawMill and I had the Bomb Squad idea about 3 years ago so any rights, royalties or profits are ours !!! :-) j/k :-)
