If I told someone in a proshop to resurface my Blackcherry bomb what all would they do to it? I never had anything done to it in the past, but when I go to the Lane one web site they say the ball is polished. When I got the ball it appeared dull. Will the proshop person know to leave it as is or will they polish the ball ? Thanks Carlos

If they are a responsible shop that happens to be familiar with the OOB finish on the BCB they would likely ask you if you wanted it returned to the original finish or if you wanted it returned to roughly the surface you have it at now.

As far as resurfacing goes, they'll probably start with 220 grit wet dry sandpaper or 180 abralon depending on how deep the scratches are.

For an OOB finish they should stop at 400 grit and then take a fine rubbing compound to it.  While Lane 1's website does say polished, very few balls produced in Muskegon with solid coverstocks had a high gloss polish OOB.

Thanks Storm. I not sure what the specs are for the Blackcherry Bomb. I tried checked Lane One's web site and the only thing I could find out was that the ball was polished. I will do as J Mac suggested and have the person bring the ball back to the surface it has now. Maybe someone know's what the surface was on the Blackcherry Bomb and can pass it on to me.

Would it be safe to tell the proshop guy to take the ball to 400 grit and rough buff it after he resurface the ball. Is it extra to rough buff a ball ? He told me the price was 25 dollars for resurfacing. Thanks Doug for your help. Hopefully that will make the ball like new again.
