nova,

Have you ever thought about how much more revs you would get with a deeper left knee bend?  Your left knee seemed a bit straight, indicating that you are standing up at the fowl line.  Please accept this as constructive advice, and it was just the first thing I saw when I saw your ball movement.  I am just curious if you are satisfied with your reaction, and what you have thought about changing, if anything.  Your release also seemed a bit tame, which could be a timing issue, in conjunction with the knee bend.  I used to have that, and went to a 5 step approach, which when I got used to it, it helped my timing.

I liked the Crystal, and the carry with the solid seemed really good. I also have not seen a good Bullet until your video.

My delivery is mostly a result of knees and a back that belong on somebody three times my age. As for release, yes, I am trying to build wrist strength to allow me to stay under/behind the ball more. However, I am by no means disappointed with my game.

As for the comment made my Inverted...whether you are right or wrong in your observations, isn't bowling about matching up? I found something that works for me, so I stuck with it.

Unless there was something wrong with the lane machine THE DAY I BOWLED, it is supposed to be the same pattern we ran on Monday night. On Monday, I was told the lanes were taped, and they were in compliance. It is a sanctioned sport league, so they had BETTER be legit.

As for the day of the video, that pattern was laid out on one lane only for three of us to practice on. I was not keeping score, and I threw enough balls to have probably bowled 6-8 games. As I said, two other guys (also straighter players) were bowling on that same lane. It is entirely possible that we created some hold area just by bowling in the same area over and over. I DO know if you got too fast, or too far outside, there was no chance of getting to the pocket...washout for sure. And the opposite was true as well. Tug it a couple boards and you are crossing over. Same thing if you get slow or grab a handfull.

Anyhow, some people said they wanted a video of a Crystal Diamond, and some people wanted footage on a sport pattern. I did my best to deliver both.

My crystal diamond does clip the fingers and thumb. I have a very high track to begin with, but I usually throw spares with a broken wrist position (end over end). that is a recipe for thumpinmg! It does not hurt anything, and it does not bother me.

Jon,
SWEET theme music !!! I've ALWAYS thought that the words and rhythm of that song were perfect for bowling ... although I DO prefer "Enter Sandman" by Metallica to get my blood flowing for competition (and I'm 50!!)

BTW, nice ball reactions !!!

Nice shooting buddy.

OMFG!
Between making the video and watching the video, I have probably viewed this error 25 times and just now caught it.
Besides my bowling style, has anyone else noticed the error?
I refuse to spend the time fixing it.

Actually, I was considering grinding the "S" off the ball so I could say the video was accurate.
Oh, nevermind...there is no reference to "crystal" anywhere on the ball.
Damn...no "plan B".

I'll send it out tomorrow!

Nova, it takes alot of confidence to post a video on this site as many will try to ridicule your efforts. Thank you for the viseo and work you put into it. If you are happy with your style, keep on rolling just as you are. There is nothing that ticks me off more than some lame teenage (or teenage minded) house hack thinking they have a right to ridicule others. I have the Crystal, Solid Cobalt, and the Bullet and I like the reactions that your's have as well as mine. As for whether it was a sport pattern, I don't know but I will not doubt your word as you were the one there bowling on it and know how many gaes it took to make this video. Others fail to realize this. Again, I applaud your efforts!!

BTW, from looking at your other video, you have a pretty controllable shot it looks like.

Sweet. Thanks for the advice. I knew something was missing from my game, and I just could not put my finger on it until now. I wish I had known this a long time ago. I will go and try to grow a hand.

By the way, since you have no profile, I am going to assume you will need your Mom's permission to come out from behind your screen and throw a few games with me. It's up to you. We can bowl on a THS or a sport shot. I'll pay for the lanes. You set the $$$ bet per game. When can I expect you to show up?

crizzle,

You ask for your wasted minute back, yet you sit at your computer from 1:27 until 3:42 just to argue your supremacy. I am left only to wonder what your real contributions are. To this site, to bowling, and to life.

As for folks getting off on bowling videos... if I knew that was the case, I might have worn my Incredible Hulk underoos for the occasion. Jeesh. Why do I find these things out after the fact.
