Wanna Compare, Gold Nug. To Purple Pearl Carbide Bomb
« on: February 03, 2004, 01:04:28 AM »
Not that I'm going to buy this one, but Just wanted to know how these two compare. I have a Pearl Bomb and was wanting to know how different they would roll. I'll probably get a Uranium eventually, but thought I would see if anyone had compared these two. If so, give me some info. Thanks,

I used to own the pearl bomb, and currently own a Golden Nugget. The golden nugget rolls earlier and hooks more. But remember its been at least a year since I had a pearl bomb, so lane conditions could have been alittle different.

I carry both as baseline equipment.  I have the pearl bomb(4 1/2 X 3) pin above ring.   My Nugget is 4x3, pin below the ring.

As expected the nugget is earlier and about 2 boards weaker than the pearl bomb.
I get very nice front skid with the pearl bomb. A ton of backend. I usually start out with the nugget and go to the pearl bomb.  The pearl bomb tends to blow through the break more than the nugget.

I like them both, but they do roll quite different.

Hope this helps

I tried to find out this very thing
when the GN first came out but was
not sucessful at all. So I have ordered
a GN from Doug Sterner and will hopefully
pick it up Saturday barring any nasty weather.
