Title: Was it a good deal?

So, I walked into the pro shop today to get a ball plugged, and I see signs all over the place for closeouts due to the shop being under renovation.  My husband's been wanting to try Lane 1, and on the wall are a Nebula, an Evolution, and a Crystal Diamond Buzzsaw.  They're the last in stock, and the Nebula and Evolution are in his weight, while the Buzzsaw is in my weight.  After chatting with my driller for about 20 minutes, he offers me the lot for around $475 including drilling, slugs, grips, and tax.

All I've ever heard about Lane 1 is that they're expensive.  I couldn't pass this up.  Was it a deal, or did I just get sucked into new ball frenzy?

fantastic deal for any brand, at 158.00 each drilled grips and slug out the door, I would not have passed it up either

Thanks for the reassurance.  I get nervous whenever I start counting out multiple $100s for bowling equipment.

As for my husband, I think I'll keep him.  He got home from work last night and couldn't stop grinning.  It was time for some new equipment for him.  Two of his favorites are a La Nina and an original Icon.  They've been begging to be replaced, and I think these Lane 1 balls will do the trick.

Now, for the next question.  I use an old, and I mean really old, rubber ball for my spares, and I'm going to start using the crystal buzzsaw.  Should I anticipate making a lot of alignment changes to my feet and mark, or will they pretty much be minor moves to get lined up with this new ball?

From what I've seen rubber moves MORE than plastic.
Anticipate tightening up the lines to your spares.

Six has the right idea.  Break it down to a per ball cost and you see what a good deal you got.  The two for your husband retail for over $200 and the cheapest I've seen the one you took is $140.  So overall, you still saved at least $80.

if you throw you rubber ball straight and dont account for any hook then you will be fine but if you hook the rubber ball at your spares as megamav stated, learn to tighten up the line,
