I picked up a used BCB a while back and I've been getting a real weird tracking when I throw it. For some reason the ball is tracking right threw the cenetr of grip, exactly like a full roller !
The ball is drilled up and righ of ring, cg stacked. My stats are: 425rpm, cranker with PAP of 5 1/4 over and 1 up.
The ball has a flare reducing hole inside my PAP as well. Ive heard that the super high flaring bomb cores sometimes don't work stacked.
I have no problems tossing the ball, its not catching ect...
Any ideas?

I have ahad some wierd reactions with the bomb cores. My very first cherry bomb rolled great until i changed the surface and then i could not keep it from tracking over the fingers or weight hole. So i bought another one (used) same result. Tried plugging and redrilling still tracking over the fingers and weight hole. Also tried the Blcak cherry, carbide bomb (green & Purple) and same results. They flare too much for crankers i guess. I had a dirty bomb that didnt do that but all others do.
I really dont know why other then too much flare, mine flared about 7-8 inches.

Thanks for the reply getuaload

I also have a Dirty Bomb & a HDB and they both roll good for me. I did have 2 Cherry Bomb Pearl and they both did something similar to this if I can remember. Oh well I guess thats one of down falls about being about to turn the ball
One thing that I don't under stand is how can Rudy throw the SCB in the videos and get a good roll on it ? I would think he would have this problem too ?

good question, Maybe you can try lane#1 site and see if you find the drill pattern on his ball. Or maybe you can ask Mr Buzzsaw.
I sent them a email before about this and they couldnt come up with a answer for me.
I was also the one who named the Tsunami and didnt get credit for it. But i guess that is the way they roll..
You may also try to contact Mike Savio, I think i spelled it right.
He goes by BuzzsawMike on here.

Your ball driller really needs to know your axis and tilt when drilling high flaring cores so not to flare over fingers and thumb or weight holes

is there a tool for that?
probably 1 ball driller out of 100 will actually go to the lengths of estimating that information.

It's usually found by measuring initial track diameter I believe... You'd use a quarter scale to do it.
As for the unusual flare.... My one comment is, why drill a ball stacked if you are a cranker??? You don't need any help getting a ball to flare... Especially one with as much differential as a BCB.

I had no luck with my Dirty Bomb and Super Carbide Bomb when drilled stacked. I have since plugged the SCB and redilled pin under ring and CG out 45 degrees. Works like a dream. I have not redone the Dirty Bomb yet.
My Black Cherry Bomb is drilled Label Leverage (1:30) and I love it. That sucker flares like mad! This was one of my favorite THS balls towards the end of the winter season.

I'd say my BCB is pretty close to stacked as well, but the pin is under my ring finger and there is a big hole in the positive thumb quadrant.

spin it up on a determinator you will know how agressive the core is and to drill it with less flare

i thought the determinator was just for mass bias purposes.

As far as I know that is all it is for... but with holes in it, a BCB it might become a little asymmetric.

drilling a max flare layout with a huge flare ball is just asking for trouble.
ill never understand it.
-
you can tell by the spread and wobble between the rings of how agressive the core is, a highly agressive core ball will act a lot different on the determinator then a weaker core ball

He didn't say it was stacked leverage... but your comment still has some validity to it.

Yes, Mav, drilling a high flaring layout on a agressive core ball is very unnecessary, Drill a ball maxed out is not always the answer

Ok guys I didnt have the ball drilled I bought it used like this. So I figured I would try it as is. You would think the flare reducing hole would do something...
As for the flare, for me on the BCB, it goes all the way around the ball back over the x-hole and through the middle as well, LOL !
I got the ball with it being on its second drill, so I don't plan on redrilling it...it was more of an impulse buy
...but for the record, both my HDB and pearl DB is stacked and they roll great !

302, Keep in mind that the HDB and the DB do not have the same core as the BCB, The HDB and the DB have the single mini diamond in the middle and the BCB have 2 mini stacked diamonds which will make the BCB a higher flaring ball.

I just meant to show what you heard is not really true for everyone. I know it might flare like you said with some people
Inverted 1
next time I go to the proshop, I will ask my driller for it
