What are the grit of the balls?
« on: November 27, 2003, 06:56:46 PM »
On the Lane#1 sight under surface it only says, polished, highly polished, etc. What are the sandpaper grits? I'm looking at the XXl, SCB, BCB, and the pearl BC.

Here are my guess's:

BCB: 1000
BC Pearl: 1500
SCB: 800
XXL: 1000
XL: 1500

Does this sound about right?

Bereez,

I called the Brunswick rep, and he said thatv they rarely make a coverstock that is finer than 1000; most are 800 or less, and some polished.  What is done after that he could not say.  I guess if Lane 1 thought that grit was important they would list it.  Maybe you should e-mail them and ask that questions from Chuck or Richie.

Hey,

Now that I think about it, grits are those little rice-like things that people eat with butter and salt/pepper.  If they are sandy grits, it's only because you are eating them on the beach!  Just thought I would make a feeble attempt at humor.

I would recommend using trizact for
all proactive lane #1 balls.
I used the 5 micron on my PCB and got
the reaction back after scuffing with a
green scotchbrite pad and trying to get an earlier
start out of it. now if I can just find my
last piece of 10 micron I will be set to go.
