I have a Pink Panther with a long pin and lower top wt. I drilled the ball pin over bridge and cg kicked right. The ball was too strong out of the box so I took the surface to 4000 grit and threw it...still too strong so I added polish. Now the ball gets down the lane like I want but has WAYYYYYYY too much off the spot.
Anybody out there have any magic with this ball to calm it down at all? I hate to plug and redrill but it's starting to look like my only option.

Try going with a lower grit and polish. Say 800 or 1000 then some polish.

Be good, or be good at it.

Weight hole on your PAP would do the trick also (if you have enough TW and SW to accommodate it).

I agree on the weight hole statement... Heck even if you dont have enough side weight, you can go a little negative if you have to. Make the weight hole at least maybe 15/16 and not go very deep, that way you will get it flaring like crazy throughout the lane. But place the hole on your PAP for the super smooth roll. John

Weight hole deep (3") on the PAP will cut the differential, reducing flare and smooth out the reaction off the spot. If you want to do this, start with a small bit (5/8-9/16) and check statics to make sure you are legal before going bigger. You want to hit the core, so small/deep will have more effect than large/shallow. Also, as others have mentioned, using a rougher underlying grit before you polish may help.

Drill the weight hole bigger, taking out all the positive side. If that's still too much, go to negative side. I don't know where your balance hole is now, or if you have one, but on your PAP will be best. =:^D

Thanks guys...I was curious what you all would say. I am a fairly conventional guy when it come to making adjustments and such on balls but I have found most recently that I am having to make some out of the ordinary adjustments.
Drilling the ball back to negative side? That goes against conventional wisdom but it's one option I have heard A LOT recently.
800 grit and polish? That's an odd one but again one that I have heard more than once recently.
I am thinking the hole on my PAP with taking the side back to 0 will be my option at first then I'll drop the grit on the coverstock.
I just want this ball to work sooooo bad. I just cannot believe how strong the ball is on the backend.

+1...... definitely hit the core. CB is right on the money here.
