what is the best lane 1 ball?

hey guys, i recently just bowled a 266 with my uranium pearl, and i love lane 1, im want to know what the best lane 1 ball is because im looking to get another one soon. i like angular balls with a nice backend snap, which ball is best for that? (other then the uranium pearl), thanks for the help

My suggestion might be the most knowledgable since I have only one Lane#1 ball and what a ball it is. I've the Hybrid DirtyBomb and just shot a 278 (house shot) today. It has a fairly strong backend but then again it depends on your release. You can easily tame it down with a more end-over-end type roll.

There's a pic of the layout in my profile. Drilled fairly strong actually, almost 3 3/4" away from my pap, under the ring, and yet still can provide a strong backend. Definatly wont be the last Lane#1 ball for me, that's all I can say.

Dirty Bomb pin over ring and cg stacked, the new enchriched uranium should be nice stronger version of your current ball. The dirty bomb is a great ball i would suggest snagging one before they disappear into thin air soon.

killswitch, I can't argue with kingpins reply, however, the bomb cores didn't seem to match up well with me. If you like the uranium pearl, you may want to take a look at the new enriched uranium. Same core as your uranium, but it has a light particle load  coverstock. You should be able to drill it up for length & a powerful backend reaction.

The best ball for me has always been the Silver/C but since they're quite out of production you might try another.  I'm impressed with the long and strong H2O and I have heard the Tsunami has converted Siver fans. If the Uranium fits you well then I agree with Sawuser.

The best Lane 1 ball is the one which matches up to you and your lane condition the best. If you want length and a strong backend there are a few choices but they really depend a lot on drilling, coverstock prep and your lane condition.

The new Enriched Uranium gets solid length and a strong backend but the low RG core and the particle coverstock, you'll need some ball speed or above average oil to get it to work.

If you want a ball that is longer and more angular than your Uranium, the Dirty Bomb is for you.

The Tsunami is another nice ball that will get good length and a strong backend if drilled properly.

i would suggest the new enriched uranium-just tried out my test ball and shot really well over two nights--669 and 725...also the tsunami is a wonderful ball too....as doug says, alot has to do with the conditions you are bowling on...maybe the best all round ball for me in the last six months has been the dirty bomb...

I would have to second that said by mrbowlingnut..the Dirty Bomb I have is stacked with pin over ring...wow what a left turn and BOOM!

Tony, I personally didn't match up well with either, but I think I would choose the HDB mainly because it seems more versitile. I'm sure other bomb lovers will give their opinions.

I would like to put in a vote for the BCB.  It carries better than any other ball I've ever seen or thrown especially on the light hits.  The only draw back is the cover.  If you miss left you will pay.  So if your accruate and speed dominate this is a great ball.  I think if you wrapped a RG Epic cover around the BCB core it would be the most devstating ball ever!

You crack me up man. The sad part is, it's true we place a little too much emphasis on what the ball is capable of above our own capabilities. I just had a weird experience. I was reading down the thread, and was going to ask which is better between the Hybrid Dirty Bomb, and the Dirty Bomb, when I saw that someone else had already asked that question. The weirdest part is, it was my name next to the post! I'm still looking for that ball with a 250 in it! ::Holds his new Xxcel up to his ear and shakes it::

I don't think there is a "Best Lane #1 Ball" made yet ? Every ball works great various days and on various lanes and oilpatterns. Yesterday my Golden Nugget got me 1372 on 6 games (40X) on syntetic lanes. Two weeks ago my Cherry Bomb gave me 750 on 3 games on a wooden surface. Another day my Black Cherry Bomb with a dull surface got me them strikes, enough to win a tournament and got me some fine "Dead Presidents".

I allways bring all my 6 Lane #1 balls and go from there......

SO LET'S BUZZ-SAW BOYS !
