Successful H2O Drilling
« on: December 13, 2005, 02:39:30 PM »
Hey guys just wanted to put this out there for your perusal. I used a Mo Pinel drill pattern on my H2O and it is a winner!!!!

I have been struggling with the overreacting backend so I decided to look at Mo's sheets for the Sahara since it is a dry lane ball and that's what I wanted.

I decided to use the 2x6 drilling on the H2O. The drilling was for a small flare, minimum hook and control. It works great!

Lane 1 didnt have anything like this on their drill sheets but it works fantastic. I did do some coverstock work....wet sand to 1000, Clean N Sheen to remove the lines followed by Magic Shine and then Delayed Reaction.

I was able to play multiple angles on a burned out lane condition. I don't think these lanes had been oiled in 3-4 days. I could play up the outside with end over end roll. I could play a small swing 12 to 8. I could go deep as long as I didn't put it out too far.

The ball revs quite early but is done flaring at 40 feet and then relies on the coverstock to get into the pocket. I can't wait to try this on our fresh house shot!!!!

Do you have a pic (or diagram) that would show this?
I am interested because my H2O is more ball than I had planned for!

Just out of curiosity, in a 2 x 6 layout, where does the MB/PSA locator end up?

You got it Trigger.....

The pin is 2" above my PAP and the mass bias is under the thumb.

The ball has a long smooth roll to it. The ball won't flip unless you really get into it. Yet, this ball has the ability to go through the pocket and hit well even if you just roll it off your hand.

I'm liking it!!!!!

I'll get a pic out to you guys tomorrow night.

The pin is above and just inside of my VAL...2" from the PAP. The Mass bias is at 5:30 to the thumbhole and about 3/4" away.

A small weighthole was required as I had about 1-5/8 side weight. I took it back to 3/4 positive side and it has about 1/4 finger now. I placed the weighthole on the VAL but 2" below the PAP. This is where the line thru the grip center and cg intersected the VAL. Since it was a Mo drill pattern I decided to use Mo's weighthole placement concept.

The ball is incredibly smooth and controllable. I LOVE IT!!!!!

Thanks, Trigger! Do you think it's better to get this ball and drill than getting a Bullet for dry to torched lanes?

Trigger...your drilling is very close to mine except that my cg is kicked more towards the thumb and the MB is below the thumb. This allowed me to use a small and deep weighthole.

I'll get pics tomorrow and post them.

Those drillings look similar to a couple of the drillings for the Storm Paradigm.

Well let's see......

Full 6 way sand to 1000 grit

1 Coat of Clean N Smooth

2 Coats of Magic Shine

1 Coat of Delayed Reaction

SO, yeah it's a bit glossy :-)

Here's my Tsunami.  It's somewhat like trigg and Fiber's, but a little more CG Axis than Stacked.  It is VERY smooth, not jumpy at all.  It works perfectly for medium to a little heavy medium for me.
