Title: What is the depth of H2O engraving
Post by: Moon57 on December 17, 2006, 05:51:52 AM
Hi. Got an H2O off EBay. The engraving on the ball feels pretty smooth. The serial# is plenty deep but I don't want to have the lettering start disappearing on me if I do any resurfacing. I think that is the point where the ball becomes undersize and not legal anymore. Never had a Lane 1 ball before so don't have anything to go by. Thanks

Dick

As long as the seral #'s are visable you are ok.

2-3mm at least. I would not worry too much about this - like Buzzhead states, as long as the serial number is visible you are O.K., and to render a ball illegal through sanding will be quite an effort.

Thanks guys. I feel better now. Never had a ball feel so smooth over the engraving.

They fill them with something thats why they are so smooth.......
(I don't know if this was continued with the switch to Columbia covers or not)
