I bought one of these for my wife and its just not working like I was hoping in the box finish. I was thinking about scuffing it up some with a scotch brite pad. Anyone out there tried this??

Try it - you can always put it back. The odds are real good that if it's scuffed it's gonna burn up. Keep an eye out for that. Does it need a weight hole instead?
